9 Houston Restaurants with Views of the Water

Grab a bite to eat with a view of Houston’s bayous and lakes.

Houston, Texas is one of the most populous cities in the United States. It is packed with fun-filled attractions like zoos, museums, nightlife, and the Space Center.

The city also doesn’t fall short when it comes to gorgeous views and delicious food options. Nothing beats a meal with a view—check out my list of the best waterfront restaurants in Houston below!

Noah’s Ark Bar & Grill

Located on Boulevard Street under the tiki huts, Noah’s Ark Bar & Grill takes pride in having the best seafood and burgers on the bay.

In addition to decadent dinners, Noah’s also offers daily breakfast and a Sunday breakfast buffet. I love the casual, divey atmosphere (and can’t pass up on the jalapeno poppers and fish tacos).

Noah’s Ark Bar & Grill isn’t for meat-eaters only—the menu features plenty of vegetarian options, as well.

If you like great food, gorgeous views, and a good time for reasonable prices, check this place out. Snag an outdoor seat on the patio for a meal overlooking the Galveston Bay.

Barge 295

Why just gaze at the views when you can experience them firsthand? Barge 295 is the only bar in Texas that floats on a barge—the views can’t get better than that.

The casual atmosphere and traditional American cuisine are the perfect compliments to the waterfront views.

My favorite menu items are the Southern Eggrolls and Fried Shrimp. Their shrimp is perfectly fried and served with decadent hush puppies and crispy french fries.

Cabo Bar and Grill

2513 NASA Road 1, Seabrook, TX 77586
Phone: 281-532-2691

The ambiance is casual, but this location has a full bar, happy hour specials, and an atmosphere that makes you want to dance.

You don’t want to miss out on Cabo’s Taco Tuesday! I loved the Aji Avocado Tacos, and the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos came in at a close second.

Marais

2015 FM 517 Rd E, Dickinson, TX 77539
Phone: 281-534-1986

Located in the Dickinson business district, Marais is the dream spot for a romantic, waterfront meal. However, Marais is more than just upscale dining and elegant views—you can wrap up your night at one of the lively bars on location.

The Plank is their casual, pirate-themed sports bar. You can also hop on a swing at Benson’s, Marais’s own vintage party bar.

Dickinbach, the outdoor beer garden, is another must-see spot on the property. Marais’s main dining menu consists of Cajun-inspired cuisine, steaks, and seafood.

My favorite dish is the Short Rib-stuffed Ravioli. Check out their special events and live music calendar to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings at this extravagant, waterfront location.

Pier 6

Pier 6 Seafood & Oyster House is located right on the water, minutes away from the Windmill Gardens Inn.

This waterfront bistro has a variety of delicious options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Brunch is one of my favorite meals to enjoy at Pier 6.

When I’m craving a sweet treat, I love to pair the Mimosa Flight with the Cinnamon Toast Crunch French Toast. When dinner time rolls around, I prefer the Crab Cakes Entree.

Their Executive Chef, Joe Cervantez, is an award-winning chef with over 15 years of professional cooking experience.

Raffa’s

Raffa’s Waterfront Grill, located near Sharky’s Waterfront Grill, offers a waterfront dining experience with a classy ambiance.

Their contemporary American menu focuses on fresh ingredients. Raffa’s offers patio seating with a gorgeous view of the water. My personal favorite is the Mediterranean Chicken. I also can’t pass up on the Smoked Gouda Mac.

Raffa’s also offers family packs—snag a pack of cheeseburgers or chicken alfredo when you want to impress your dinner guests but don’t have time to cook.

Topwater Grill

815 Avenue O, San Leon, TX 77539
Phone: 281-339-1232

Topwater Grill encompasses everything you have ever wanted in a casual, seafood restaurant: nautical decor, relaxing vibes, and waterfront views.

They operate their own shrimp and oyster boats, serving the freshest food in the sea! I like to explore the Topwater Grill Platters when I visit this location.

So far, I’ve tried the Drunken Redfish and the Mahi Mahi Avocado. Next, I have my eye on the Chili Pepper Redfish Deluxe.

If you don’t prefer seafood, there are other meats, pasta, and sandwich entrees available. Check out the views of this restaurant located right on the peninsula at April Fool Point of the Galveston Bay.

Monument Inn

4406 Independence Pkwy, La Porte, TX 77571
Phone: 281-479-1521

This women-owned restaurant is known for its “All You Can Eat” portion of the menu. For $48, you can dive into a variety of delicious seafood and other bites.

I personally load up on the shrimp, dinner rolls, and cinnamon rolls. Located about five minutes from the San Jacinto Museum of History, the Monument Inn has a casual atmosphere and delicious seafood.

I like to kickstart my meal with the Torpedo appetizer, which consists of jalapenos stuffed with crabmeat.

Sharky’s Waterfront Grill

Located right on the border of Lake Houston, Sharky’s Waterfront Grill offers an array of seafood and casual American cuisine.

I can’t resist the Shark Bites: their fried shrimp are stuffed with pepper jack cheese, wrapped in bacon, and accompanied by barbecue and chipotle sauce. I also love Sharky’s Fried Green Beans.
