Fare Well is a “retro chic” casual dining restaurant that offers patio dining as well as takeout. They offer brunch on the weekends, all day breakfast during the week, and entrees. The Ginger Glazed “steak” tips are absolutely delicious, and the Cheesy Mac is a dish to order every time.
Fare Well has won the Cupcake Wars on the Food Network, so make sure you save room for dessert! You can also order entire cakes from Fare Well.

Located within select Whole Foods stores across the Washington, D.C., area, Plnt Burger is one restaurant not to be missed. Plnt Burger is – you guessed it – entirely plant based!
One of the fan favorite locations is their Tyson’s Corner location, for their spacious rooftop patio. While all locations of Plnt Burger are fast casual, this location allows friends to gather in a relaxed environment. One of their menu items not to miss – the “Chik-n-fuguy” sandwich. This sandwich is the “food waste success story” of Plnt Burger – they use oyster mushroom stems, a part of the mushroom that is less often used, and they have created a sandwich that is too spectacular to leave out.
If Plnt sounds familiar to you, it might be because Celebrity Chef Spike Mendelshon is one of the co-founders. Chef Spike is active on social media, and often promotes sustainability and has taken a stand against food waste.

Offering up a “meatless magic” menu, VegZ is located in Adams Morgan, and can be most easily accessed via the U Street Metro.
VegZ is a casual restaurant that serves up Indian inspired vegetarian cuisine. Their menu offers a large selection of dishes. The Broccoli and Grated Coconut is a unique dish that is a must try. The Shahi Paneer, grated cheese with a cashew sauce, is oh so creamy and perfect with the balsamic rice that is served with the dish.
This vegetarian restaurant is a fan favorite. Vegz strives to show customers that vegan and vegetarian food can be both filling and satisfying, and they deliver on that goal.

HipCityVeg is a fast casual restaurant that is entirely vegan based. They serve up milkshakes, burgers, and fries, among other favorite items. HipCityVeg also serves breakfast all day. Breakfast lovers should try their featured Golden Hash Browns and Sunnyside Sausage, Egg, and Cheese sandwich.
HipCityVeg uses local and organic ingredients often. Their focus is on sustainability, and their team members are always friendly and are happy to make recommendations to customers. Customers often comment that while the food is vegan, it could “pass” for tasting like meat.

Rania’s Love is a Vietnmanese Vegetarian restaurant located in the Falls Church area of Northern Virginia.
Rania’s Love is a casual and comfortable restaurant that is welcoming to vegetarians and meat eaters alike. There are many Vietnamese dishes that vegetarians can now enjoy, all at Rania’s Love. Their Spring Rolls are made with a pork meat substitute, and are just as crispy and delicious as their meat filled counterparts.
Rania’s Love offers takeout and delivery options. While they do offer dine in, the dining room is small, so make sure you are able to get there early to enjoy the dining experience.

Featuring fresh and handmade food, Chaia Tacos has two locations in Washington, D.C. – in Georgetown and Chinatown.
Considered elevated fast casual, Chaia Tacos offers up creative menu items. While all of their items are vegetarian, Chaia Tacos can be made vegan, with the exception of one taco. Their Black Beans Enchiladas are scrumptious, as well as their Braised Mushroom Tacos.

Located in Rockville, Maryland, St. Veg is a restaurant that is entirely plant based.
St. Veg uses ingredients that are fresh and locally sourced. While menu items are subject to change based on availability, they are all non-GMO verified. Their Tater Tots and Cauliflower Bites are must trys when they are available. They have many gluten free options, and many dishes can be modified as gluten free, including their sandwiches.
With food that is made from scratch and fresh daily, St. Veg is locally owned, and their founder has been vegan for a number of years.

With two locations in Washington, D.C., Shouk is located in Union Market as well as in Mount Vernon Triangle.
Shouk is a fast casual, plant based restaurant. Their menu items are inspired by global street market finds. Their Shawarma Hummus is made from oyster mushrooms and has a unique touch with pickled green cabbage. This is a menu item to try, along with their Cauliflower bowl.
Known for their delicious plant based burgers, they have packaged them for grilling at home. You can order them online and receive them via their delivery service.

Located in the H Street Corridor, Fancy Radish is a vegetable focused restaurant in Washington, D.C.
With indoor and dining seating available, Fancy Radish offers upscale plant based dining. Their Spicy Dan Dan Noodles are a must try, as well as their Chermoula Grilled Tofu. A popular restaurant, reservations are highly recommended.
Fancy Radish has received multiple accolades, including one of the best new restaurants in 2018 as well as a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Greens N’ Teff

Located in Arlington, Virginia, Greens N’ Teff is a gem of a vegan Ethiopian restaurant that is family owned and operated.
Traditional Ethiopian flavors are integrated in the plant based menu at Greens N’ Teff. A favorite among locals, all of the dishes can be enjoyed in accompaniment with their famous injera bread. Customers can build their own plate with a base, protein, and greens. Our ideal plate? An extra large plate with Injera, Mushroom Enguday Tibs, and Beets Keysir.
