Founded by Steven Salm and executive Chef David Lee, PLANTA serves healthy, eco-friendly, and high-quality multicourse meals in a posh and fashionable atmosphere.

The gorgeous dining room has a rooftop garden from which they source many fresh ingredients.

The massive menu runs the culinary gamut, from sushi to pizza.

I started with a fresh, flavorful plate of coconut ceviche.

My main course was a hearty Spaghettini Alla carbonara with bacon tempeh, mushroom bacon, cracked pepper, and almond parmesan.


Love Life Cafe

Founded by married couple Veronica and Diego, who bonded over a healthy vegan lifestyle, Love Life Café is an extension of their passion and lifestyle.

Located in Midtown, in a modern, industrial-chic space with an open kitchen, Love Life Café is a plant-based American comfort food restaurant here in Miami.

Diego heads the kitchen, utilizing a degree in plant-based cooking to create a delicious and nutritious menu that is healthy for the body and the planet.

The menu has favorites from around the globe, including many South and Central American specialties.

I especially enjoyed their plant-based take on tacos.

I ordered the Jackfruit Carnitas, three corn-tortilla tacos stuffed with jackfruit meat, mixed greens, pickled onions, and sliced avocado topped with mango salsa.


Delicious Raw Kitchen & Juice Bar

Located in a modern and bright space in Sunset Harbor, a block from Maurice Gibb Memorial Park, Delicious Raw Kitchen and Juice Bar is a casual counter-service health food concept.

The atmosphere is friendly and fashionable, with juicers and blenders whirring nonstop and a knowledgeable and passionate staff that will help customers choose which drink will best nourish them.

The menu has a myriad of coffee drinks, cold-pressed juices, shots, smoothies, and food.

They have a balanced selection of cooked and raw food.

I wanted to hydrate after a morning in the hot sun, so I ordered the refreshing Watermelon Hydrator with watermelon and mint.


Carrot Express

Carrot Express is a longstanding and pioneering fast-casual plant-based chain that originated 30 years ago in an old gas station in South Beach.

Founder Mario Laufer’s goal was to create a healthy menu using all-natural and high-quality ingredients to promote a healthy lifestyle.

His mission was a success, and one location soon expanded to seven locations in Miami, along with many more in Florida and New York.

The fun and trendy atmospheres feature vibrant, natural ingredients and plants adorning an open kitchen and smoothie bar.

I went to the downtown Miami location and had a hearty Quinoa breakfast bowl with roasted mushrooms, sauteed spinach, avocado, and pico de gallo, which I highly recommend.

Named for its founder, Della Bowls started as a wildly successful food truck that was voted the best food truck in Miami in 2016.

Della and her team continued to serve beloved bowls out of their food truck, launching a digital cookbook during the pandemic to help loyal customers holed up at home.

Della Bowls finally opened a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the Doral Yard, a creative and fashionable space in Downtown Doral.

Along with the famous bowls, the new establishment also serves a long list of kombucha, smoothies, desserts, and snacks.

You can also opt for the build-your-own-bowl.

I was more than happy to choose from one of their staple bowls.

I decided on the delicious Doral Bowl with brown rice, lentil meatballs, corn fritters, sofrito black beans, plantain, and a heart of palm avocado salad with a Verde salsa drizzle.

Teetering between Hallandale Beach and Aventura, Flyfuel Food Co. is a fast-casual health food eatery with options for carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans.

The counter service is fast and friendly, with a menu that sources the highest quality ingredients to create a scratch-made menu.

Flyfuel Food Co. was originally a juice and smoothie bar that reopened with an expanded menu. They’re a neighborhood favorite for breakfast and lunch.

I went with the fan favorite, the PB&A acai bowl.

I chose a coconut milk base with acai, banana, and peanut butter blended into a sorbet and topped with cacao nibs, banana, and granola.

Le Jardinier is a Michelin-starred restaurant run by Michelin-starred Chef Alain Verzeroli in a stunning art-deco restaurant in the heart of The Miami Design District.

Le Jardinier’s menu is vegetable-forward, with a multicourse meal that uses locally sourced fruits, vegetables, and herbs as the centerpiece.

The tropical décor and festive atmosphere complete this exquisite dining experience that is a must for foodies and vegans.

They have a full cocktail bar with incredible tropically inspired cocktails.

While the menu features meat, fish, and poultry, vegetables are the stars of the show. You have the option for a pre-fixe or a la carte menu.

The dishes are as beautiful as the dining space.

I loved the chilled zucchini velouté with fresh basil and summer squashes.


Manna Life Food

Located in a quaint yet modern dining space in Park West, a block from Bayfront Park, Manna Life Food is a vegan bakery, smoothie bar, and eatery.

Manna means “food from Heaven,” and Manna Life Food’s goal is to provide healthy, locally sourced vegan food with a divine taste and a powerful boost for the body.

The concept is fast casual, where you order food, smoothies, or desserts at the counter and enjoy them in the dining room.

They make a myriad of fresh bread, pastries, and desserts using all-natural vegan ingredients.

I was especially impressed by their vegan arepas.

I ordered the Falafel arepa with falafel made from dehydrated veggies and sunflower seeds with red pepper hummus, cucumber, and pickled beets wrapped in a warm arepa.

Run by Chefs Horacio Rivadero and Veronica Manolizi, Plant Miami is a fine-dining, gourmet farm-to-table restaurant located next door to Edgewater’s premier farmers market and public gardens, The Sacred Space.

Plant Miami is Chef-driven, plant-driven, and market-driven modern American cuisine.

They source most of their ingredients from Paradise Farms, which is their proprietary operation.

They sell surplus crops at The Sacred Space’s Sunday farmer’s market.

The stunning menu is as beautiful as it is delicious.

I started with the Tahini Eggplant with Shishitos in escabeche.

My main dish was the sunflower mushroom risotto with Maitake mushrooms, cashew bechamel, Vidalia onions, mushroom soil, and dill.


Pura Vida

Receiving glowing reviews and owner profiles from Eater, Forbes, The New York Times, and Bazaar, to name a few, Pura Vida is a modern and chic health food bistro.

Pura Vida has 11 locations in Miami, including Aventura, Miracle Mile, Edgewater, and West Palm Beach.

Owned by married power couple Omer and Jenn Horev, Pura Vida offers healthy food, drinks, and pastries.

They have acai bowls, bottled juices and shots, smoothies, scratch-made pastries, sandwiches, snacks, and more.

I went for lunch and had the Shaved Brussels salad with shaved brussels sprouts, mixed greens, green apple slices, toasted pecans, and sprouts tossed in a house-made apple cider dressing.


The Cocinita Miami

Located in a hip and casual space in the heart of Downtown Miami, The Cocinita Miami is a tropically inspired American eatery open late.

They use fresh ingredients to create a 100% plant-based menu featuring vegan versions of comfort foods from North, Central, and South America.

Even though they open at 11 am, they still offer a breakfast menu for late risers.

They offer incredible burgers, tacos, burritos, arepas, choripan, salads, and bowls.

I loved their creative fusion of arepa-meets-choripan called the Chorichapa, a fresh corn crepe wrapped around plant-based chorizo smothered in creamy vegan cheese and then topped with avocado and a spicy house sauce.


Eduble Chefs LLC

Eduble Chefs LLC is a beloved vegan food truck and catering company in the Wynwood neighborhood.

Originally a vegan macaron food truck, Eduble Chefs soon expanded their menu to include a globally inspired dinner menu.

The menu is ever-changing, with decadent comfort food as well as healthy bowls.

They still offer desserts like chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies and a vegan pecan maple pie.

I was also pleased to see some luxurious American comfort food like loaded waffle fries and fried rice.

My favorite dish was the Impossible chicken and broccoli fried rice with vegan oyster sauce.

Organic Food Kings is an edgy and alternative American comfort food stand in Midtown with a fun Astro-turf outdoor dining patio and colorfully muraled walls.

They’re a family-owned and operated restaurant specializing in completely plant-based takes on every American comfort food favorite, from fried chicken to burgers, to tacos.

By looking at the food, you’d never know it was vegan. All the meat and cheese look hyper-real and taste like the real thing, too.

I started with pulled pork empanadas and followed with a classic fried chicken sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pickle, and mayo.
