Baltimore, Maryland, is the most populous city in the state, and with its popularity comes plenty of excellent restaurants to please both the locals and visitors.

Although the city is best known for its crab dishes and incredibly delicious crab cakes, there’s a laundry list of international cuisines you can find around town.

And Thai food is one of the top favorites.

Thai food entails various remarkable flavors and ingredients, including but not limited to chili, coconut, curry, lime, fish sauce, vinegar, and fresh herbs.

Here are the best Thai restaurants in Baltimore that you should try next time you’re in town.

Thai Arroy Baltimore

Thai Arroy Baltimore is a relaxed, traditional Thai restaurant with a homey feel.

Located in South Baltimore, near the American Visionary Art Museum.

This restaurant is a BYOB (bring your own bottle) place, which adds to its homey feel and comfortable atmosphere.

You truly feel right at home uncorking your own favorite bottle of wine!

I appreciate the friendly service, gigantic portion sizes, clean environment, and gluten-free options at Thai Arroy.

My favorite dishes include red curry with shrimp, Thai dumplings, curry with chicken, and garlic pepper shrimp.

I also like the vegetarian pad thai that includes jackfruit because jackfruit has such a meaty consistency and unique flavor.

Mayuree Thai Tavern

2318 Fleet St, Baltimore, MD 21224

Mayuree Thai Tavern offers chill vibes and refined Thai eats on the southwest corner of Patterson Park.

I like the rustic-chic interior design that feels cozy enough to relax in but still intentional enough to maintain the charm of eating out.

I also love that this is a Thai restaurant where you can get great specialty drinks at the bar.

The drinks at Mayuree are almost as good as the food, and the bartenders are very friendly and attentive.

I believe Mayuree Thai has the best pad thai in the city, and I also enjoy their steamed dumplings, pad sees yew, pad kee mao (drunken noodles), and veggie spring rolls.

THAI STREET

Broadway Market 1640, Aliceanna St #11, Baltimore, MD 21231
Phone: 667-212-5906
Visit Website

Thai Street, in the Washington Hill area near Broadway Square, is an excellent spot for a range of Thai eats, including curries, noodles, salads, rice, and even Thai tea.

It’s a small, unfussy spot, and I usually choose to either eat at a table outside of Broadway Market or simply take the food to go.

As you can see, it’s hard to go wrong here!

Chokchai Thai Food

6824 Harford Rd, Baltimore, MD 21234
Phone: 410-426-3244
Visit Website

Chokchai Thai Food is a tiny, unfussy, and neat Thai eatery in Parkville near Keyes Field.

They serve classic dishes like pad thai and pad see ew and specialty dishes like lard and moo, chicken satay, and duck curry.

I like that you can get a few items here that you might not find anywhere else in the city.

Plus, the food at Chokchai always tastes particularly fresh, and you can tell they put a lot of love into their cooking.

It’s not the most authentic Thai food you’ll ever try, and the portions aren’t always as big as in other places, but if you’re looking to try something new, this is one of the best places to do so.

Thai Elephant Wok

32 S Eutaw St, Baltimore, MD 21201
Phone: 410-230-2999
Visit Website

Thai Elephant Wok offers an alluring, dim-lit, brick-lined, plant-covered interior space that I fell in love with the very first time I entered.

Located downtown near Oriole Park at Camden Yards, this Thai spot is a great place to go with friends for lunch, dinner, or tea.

If you work around the area, it’s also a nice place to walk to for lunch since it’s conveniently located. Once there, you have to try the crab fried rice.

Surprisingly, this was the first time I’ve tried crab fried rice, and it was so tasty that I returned the next day to order it again!

Also, try the duck curry, green curry, and flower crab rangoon.

Thai Restaurant

3316 Greenmount Ave, Baltimore, MD 21218
Phone: 410-889-6003

Thai Restaurant has a name that’s as straightforward and old-school as the dining experience it provides here in Baltimore.

I love going to this family-owned restaurant east of Johns Hopkins University when I truly want traditional, old-school Thai cooking.

The owner, Billy, and his team provide excellent customer service and care, making the experience even more homey and comfortable.

But the food is undoubtedly the best part.

I love their lemongrass soup, pad thai, fried rockfish, stir fry ginger chicken, pan-seared salmon, and perfectly spicy curries.

I also like to start my meals here with a papaya salad and end them with Thai rice pudding.

Bodhi Federal Hill

1444 Light St, Baltimore, MD 21230
Phone: 443-708-7527
Visit Website

Bodhi Federal Hill is one of the best Thai restaurants in Baltimore for the atmosphere alone.

It’s so welcoming, friendly, comfortable, and intimate, making it perfect for a date or a small group of friends.

The BYOB aspect makes it all the more appealing!

Located near Riverside Park in South Baltimore, these restaurant has a wide range of delicious options for all tastes.

You can get rice, curries, stir-fried dishes, rolls, dumplings, and more.

I also appreciate that they have plenty of vegan options too.

It’s hard to choose my favorite menu items here because everything is so good, but I typically order their basil fried rice, fried eggplant, drunken noodles, lamb, and Thai basil pork curry.
