There’s nothing better than feeling the satisfying crunch of biting into a tasty hard-shell tortilla taco except, maybe, the soft and fluffy sensation of a delicious soft-shell tortilla taco, but it depends on who you ask. As for us, we can never seem to decide, so we order them all. When you’re in the mood for tacos and can’t decide where to go, all you have to do is follow this guide below and you’ll be certain to find something that satisfies all of your cravings for anything taco-related.

First on our list of the best tacos in Tampa is Xtreme Tacos located on the corner of East Powhatan Avenue and North Nebraska Avenue in the Seminole Heights neighborhood, so if you’re ever nearby, definitely stop in. They have hard, crunchy tacos, soft tortilla tacos, and much more on their enormous menu here at Xtreme. Our favorite are their incredible Xtreme tacos that come with your choice of meat, cabbage, pico de gallo, guacamole, cheese, and crema.

Up next is a place called TacoSon Authentic Mexican Grill and they have some of Tampa Bay’s best tacos, in our opinion. TacoSon Authentic Mexican Grill is located on the corner of Oakland Drive and North 56th Street in Northeast Tampa, just south of Temple Terrace and they serve up some extremely delicious Mexican food, especially their tacos. You can find Green Lemon over off of South Howard Avenue in the Historic Hyde Park North neighborhood of South Tampa, and once you visit, you’ll see why it’s a SoHo favorite for some of Tampa’s best tacos. We love their authentic Mexican street tacos here at Green Lemon the most because they come on freshly-made corn or flour tortillas, both soft and hard, with a huge list of delicious flavor combinations to choose from. Our favorite is their ancho chicken tacos that come with pickled red onions, avocado, cilantro, queso fresco, and a healthy drizzle of chile de arbol sauce.

Bahia Tacos is located off of South Dale Mabry Highway in the heart of South Tampa and it’s one of the best places to go for tacos in Tampa. They’ve got everything you could ever want in a taco here at Bahia like steak, pork, pulled beef, grilled chicken, fried chicken, and that’s not even half of the options! This taco spot is fast and the food is fresh, so you can’t go wrong, really. Our favorite things to order are a few of their carnitas tacos with plenty of fresh guacamole on top.

Miguelitos Taqueria y Tequila is a massive establishment and it’s easily one of the best restaurants to go to for tacos in Tampa Bay. As their name suggests, this place is an absolute haven for tacos and tequila, but it’s even more impressive in person, in our opinion. Not only does Miguelitos offer an enormous variety of tacos, but they have countless kinds of tequila, even a -5℉ tap for delicious, ice-cold shots!

Right in the heart of Northwest Tampa, off of West Columbus Drive and North Armenia Avenue, is Crazy Burrito, and while they’re known for their burritos, their tacos are equally insane. Crazy Burrito is one of the top destinations for the best tacos in Tampa if you love authentic-style street tacos with cilantro and onion on top like we do. We really love their campechano tacos here and we order them every time we stop by!

Right on the corner of East Bears Avenue and North 22nd Street is a delightful food truck called Taqueria La Mexicana and they serve some of the best tacos in tampa, complete with covered outdoor seating for some beautiful, fresh air while you eat. The menu is somewhat small here at Taqueria La Mexicana, but everything is clearly made with love because the taste is off the charts. They have a wonderful variety of proteins to choose from here, including one of our favorites: Chicharrón.

Last, but definitely not least, is Chiles Mexican Restaurant, one of our all-time favorite authentic Mexican restaurants with Tampa’s best tacos. Chiles Mexican Restaurant is located on the corner of West Columbus Drive and North Lincoln Avenue in Northwest Tampa, almost adjacent to the Tampa International Airport. We recommend one of every taco here, pretty much, because it’s all too tasty to choose just one!
