After starting with their Tuna Tartare or Assorted Tempura, I recommend ordering their Fluke Sashimi, Japanese Snapper Nigiri, Spicy Scallop Roll, or Kampachi Serrano with Oni No Shitabururi or Koji sake. Then, if you have room for dessert, consider trying their Green Tea Tiramisu, Yuzu Sorbet, or Warm Bread Pudding.

This restaurant has a chic and modern atmosphere for enjoying contemporary Japanese fare and seasonal sushi. You can also get a nice view of Atlanta’s West Midtown skyline from O-Ku’s rooftop bar and deck. My favorite menu options are Smokey Hamachi Nigiri, Tuna Crunch Roll, Miso Salmon, and Snow Crab Sashimi. Be sure to try your sushi with a side of pickled wasabi. If you don’t know what to quench your thirst with, consider trying their Paper Crane cocktail or zero-proof Yuzu Lemonade.

In my opinion, their best dishes are Bluefin Maguro Sashimi, Shinobi Roll, Squid Nigiri, and Cassanova Roll. I’m also a fan of their Salmon and Chicken Teriyaki. Be sure to add a side of Miso Soup or Mori Sunomono for an extra flavor kick. I also recommend visiting for their Valentine’s Day, Easter, or St. Patrick’s Day for a special dining experience with others.

During my last visit, I had their Omakase dinner on their outdoor patio, which I recommend if you prefer enjoying Atlanta’s warm, Southern air. I love ordering their Shrimp Tempura Roll, Hotate Sashimi, Kappamaki, or Shima Saba Nigiri. However, if you prefer something other than sushi, you can try their Grilled Eel, Filet Mignon Toban Yaki, or Marinated Japanese Cod. If you don’t have any sushi preferences, ask your server about their Chef’s Choice Omakase Special to add a dash of surprise to your night out.

Sushi Hayakawa offers several fixed-price, multi-course Omakase and tasting menus if you’re interested in trying all types of sushi. Their Salmon, Giant Clam, and Torched Horse Mackerel Nigiri are among some of my favorites. They also serve seasonal entrees, like Grilled Scallop and Saikyou-Yaki. If you consider trying their tasting menus, ask about their best beverage pairings.

I recommend sampling their Umami Oil-Seared Beef Nigiri, Spicy Popcorn Shrimp Roll, Crunchy Hand Roll, or Sea Urchin Gunkan. You should also consider pairing your sushi with a serving of crispy fries or fried takoyaki.

They also have an extensive dinner menu if you’re in the mood for seafood, chicken, beef, or vegetable dishes.

They also have a private tatami room that emphasizes its traditional Japanese aesthetic. I started with their steamed shrimp shumai and yakitori when I booked my reservation. Then, I had Tekka-Ju, an enticing tuna sushi dish over rice with a refreshing miso soup and salad. Try their Samurai Roll, a spicy tuna delicacy with eel sauce and spicy mayo if you prefer specialty rolls. Be sure to browse their wine and sake list.

Their best dishes are Salmon Tartare with Trouflle Salt, Golden Pampano Sashimi, King of Heaven Roll, and Idako Sushi. They also offer sushi burritos as lunch specials. I usually order my dinner with a side of brown rice and finish with a tiramisu sponge cake.
