A Montana steakhouse should deliver on more than just good food. It should provide an entire dining experience that transports patrons to the Old West, with dusty streets and wooden saloon doors.

At Buffalo Block Prime Steakhouse, the experience expertly matches the classic western steakhouse expectation. They’re located near the Big Horn Resort and The Reef Indoor Water Park.

They use only the best of the best at Buffalo Block. With USDA Prime beef that is wet and dry-aged, the flavor is a guaranteed encounter.

The wood-fired grill completes the authentic Old West feel. The classic cuts – filet mignon, ribeye, prime rib, and the like – are doctored to dazzle each patron with new ideas continuously circulating on the fresh menu.

They claim to have the best steak and seafood in the West. They might be right about that. Casual and relaxed, the Chop House offers a wide selection of fine meats and sides.

Brunch is a signature time to enjoy a breakfast burger, chicken fried steak, or a hurricane breakfast burrito guaranteed to get you by until dinner.

If you’re a lunch or dinner visitor, I highly recommend starting with the scrumptious crabmeat stuffed mushrooms.

The sherry sauce tops it off, creating a taste of perfection. And for dinner, you can’t go wrong with the Fulton Street ribs. Soft and tender, they practically fall off the bone and melt in your mouth.

I enjoyed the homestead burger sandwich at lunchtime, served with fries, a salad, and a cup of piping hot coffee.

Juicy and delicious, the sandwich comes on Texas toast – a unique twist on an otherwise classic burger option.

At dinner, their filet mignon came wrapped in bacon. I knew then that I had found my new favorite place in the world.
