Garage Passyunk

Garage Passyunk is literally what it sounds like: a garage-themed bar in the Passyunk neighborhood of Philadelphia!

Don’t be turned off by its exterior, though, because Garage has over 150 beers, a host of cocktails and a lively atmosphere that makes for a perfect sports viewing experience.

You can even BYOF (Bring Your Own Food!), or grab a cheesesteak from Pat’s or Geno’s right outside!

If you’re closer to North Philly, Garage Fishtown is also a great place to catch the game.

McGillin’s in Center City holds the distinction of being the oldest continually-operated pub in Philadelphia!

They’ve managed to keep up with the times, though, with a great bar scene featuring an unmatched line of beer taps (30 on draft!), British classics like Fish & Chips and Shepards Pie, and a whole lot of TV’s for your sports viewing pleasure.

You can’t go wrong with McGillin’s as the destination for your next sports outing! Get here early if it’s a big game, because space fills up fast!

Like XFINITY Live! Chickie’s & Petes is a household name in the Philadelphia sports bar scene, located a stone’s throw from the Sports Complex.

Famous for their crinkle-cut “Crabfries” made with crab seasoning and served with a white cheese sauce on the side, Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabfries pair perfectly with their traditional bar fare and extensive drink menu. 

And don’t forget about their impressive collection of TVs so that you don’t miss a moment of the action!

The Founding Fathers were visionaries, but not even they could’ve anticipated having a sports bar named after them on Philadelphia’s South Street.

With 13 TV’s and 20 beer taps, Founding Fathers provides a slightly more upscale experience than some of the other places on this list. 

The food is top-notch too, so you won’t want to miss the action at Founding Fathers!

XFINITY Live! located in South Philly down by the Sports Complex is the quintessential Philly sports bar.

With a multitude of different restaurants to choose from within the venue including Geno’s Steaks, Chickies & Petes and Lorenzo and Sons’ Pizza, sports fans have a wide variety of food options to take with them into the iconic NBC Sports Arena, a sports viewing experience unlike any other!

XFINITY Live! is a great place to go before, during and after a big Philadelphia sporting event, as well as for away games. My favorite area is Victory Beer Hall, but XFINITY has plenty of room to explore!

This sports bar has a lively, industrial-chic atmosphere, making it an excellent destination for enjoying draft beers while watching local sporting events on wall-mounted TV screens. 

They offer a wide selection of New American pub fare to pair with whiskey, bourbon, wine, scotch, cocktails, and over 30 draft beers on tap.

Consider starting with their Ten Spice Wings and ordering a Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich or Crab Cakes with a Peanut Butter Porter or All Day IPA.

They offer happy hour drink specials every weekday from 4 PM to 6 PM.

If you’re in the Northern Liberties neighborhood, one of the best sports bars Philadelphia offers is Craft Hall.

It has a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere offering plenty of fun things to do, from watching sports on TV to games like foosball and pool. Their dog-friendly outdoor patio has lovely waterfront views of the Delaware River.

Their menu features classic comfort food like burgers and pizza you’ll enjoy with beer, wine, or a cocktail.

During my last visit, I had a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Parks Pale Ale and a side of fries. If you want dessert, try their Apple Pie or Vanilla Ice Cream.

They have live acoustic music on Wednesdays and karaoke on Thursdays. Enjoy your favorite drinks while playing games like darts, pool, or air hockey.

I recommend ordering their BBQ Wings, Grilled Chicken BLT Wrap, or Bacon BBQ Burger if you crave something hot and savory.

Consider pairing these dishes with a Blood Orange Old-Fashioned, Cucumber Lemonade, or New Trail Crisp Lager to enhance your casual dining experience.

This bar has 24 TVs, including a 52 foot LED display, so you won’t miss a moment. They host tailgate parties and offer specials for game days.

Their bar area is cozy and decorated with local artwork on the walls. They offer outdoor seating in their dog-friendly beer garden and host several events, like live music and comedy shows.

Enjoy their best beers on tap with food from rotating food trucks in their beer garden. During my last few visits to the city, I ordered a Margherita Pizza and Carnitas Tacos. My go-to beer options are their Solar Song and Lowery Bros.


Cartesian Brewing

Cartesian Brewing is a sports bar near the Little Saigon neighborhood. Its relaxed, industrial ambiance appeals to many Philadelphia patrons looking for a great place to watch sports while drinking their favorite draft beers.

They have a spacious back patio where you can unwind on days with nice weather and host trivia nights on Thursdays.

They offer a refreshing selection of beers on tap. Although they offer snacks like pretzels, guests can bring their own food or buy something from their rotating food trucks, like Texas BBQ dishes and Mexican cuisine.

My favorite beers on tap are Glowing Dreams and Minced Oaths.


Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen

Nestled within the Old City neighborhood, Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen is one of the top sports bars Philadelphia locals love to hang out at after spending a day at the local museums.

It has a laid-back, rustic atmosphere, emphasized by its brick wall interior. Their culinary team prepares their food using slow-roasting and braising techniques to ensure quality flavors.

Their inventive all-day menu offers sandwiches and specialty dishes. Their bar serves 36 rotating taps of American and international beers, cocktails, and wine.

I like ordering a Smoked Pork Belly Banh Mi or Grilled Corn Ribs with a Schlafly Raspberry Hefeweizen or Spicy Ranch Water whenever I stop by for dinner.

Another one of the top sports bars Philadelphia offers is Paulie Gee’s Soul City Slice Shop, a casual, bustling pizzeria near the Midtown Village and Washington Square West neighborhoods.

Their full bar has several TV screens for watching local sporting events. Other amenities include a pool table and vinyl records for sale.

Don’t miss out on their weekday happy hour from 4 PM to 6 PM for drink specials at their bar and $5 discounts off their round and square wood-fired pizzas.

Their Freddy Prinze and Hellboy pies are some of my favorite specialty pizzas they offer. Their vegan-friendly pizzas are ideal for anyone with specific dietary preferences.


When we say Philadelphians love their sports, we really mean it. And they don’t just head to the stadiums or the arenas to demonstrate their passionate fandom, they’re also hitting up some pretty neat sports bars all over the city!
