Where to Go for the Freshest Seafood in Orlando

Our favorite destinations in the city to enjoy the bounty of the sea.

Are you visiting Orlando, Florida for your vacation, or are you local to the area? Either way, it’s impossible to pass up taking a trip to Disney World and Universal Studios.

It’s easy to spend a whole day going on numerous rides and seeing fun shows, but you’re bound to work up an appetite doing so.

As such, you may be wondering what sort of seafood options are available in Orlando where you can order a delicious dish of lobster, swordfish, or crab legs with a side of whipped potatoes or roasted brussels sprouts.

If that’s the case, check out my list of the best seafood restaurants in Orlando below!

Ocean Prime

Location: 7339 W Sand Lake Rd #400, Orlando, FL 32819
Phone: 407-781-4880

The Ocean Prime restaurant is a trendy and upscale restaurant that has plenty of delicious and innovative dishes.

It’s conveniently located and is right next to ample parking and various stores. I was immediately impressed by the decor, but, of course, my visit was for food.

My favorite appetizer here was the ahi tuna tartare, which had soft and creamy avocado and the freshest tuna.

For my main meal, I tried the crunchy and savory crab cakes with flavorful corn, brussels sprouts, and tomatoes.

I can’t recommend it enough, particularly the accompanying delicious fingerling potatoes. For dessert, I ordered the sweet chocolate cake but their other treats looked just as tempting.

The Boathouse Orlando

Location: 1620 E Buena Vista Dr, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
Phone: 407-939-2628

The Boathouse Orlando is a waterfront restaurant serving delicious fresh seafood. It features stunning views and a retro aesthetic straight out of New England.

That makes it a popular choice for shoppers from the Town Center – Disney Springs mall wanting to unwind after a fun-filled day.

The upscale and attractive restaurant has a surf ‘n’ turf-inspired menu, with all of their dishes containing only the freshest ingredients.

My favorite dish here was oysters by the dozen, while the firecracker shrimp was another delight.

To round off my meal, I ordered the Gulf of Mexico red grouper, which included delicious vegetables and tasty, flaky fish.

Even though I was getting full, I couldn’t help ending my night with a sweet and mouthwatering Oreo sundae.

Boston’s Fish House

Location: 6860 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792
Phone: 407-678-2107

Boston’s Fish House sits right amid numerous stores like the Trulieve Winter Park shop, the Aloma Ace Hardware store, and the Cybertron Video Games store.

If you want to get some ice cream after grabbing dinner at Boston’s Fish House, try Jeremiah’s Italian Ice across the parking lot.

The casual restaurant serves fresh-caught fish and shellfish. My favorite dish here was the broiled Atlantic salmon filet.

I added sweet teriyaki sauce and slightly sour pineapple chunks to the dish, which was served over soft rice. I enjoyed the flavorful craft beer as well.

Lee & Rick’s Oyster Bar

Location: 5621 Old Winter Garden Rd, Orlando, FL 32811
Phone: 407-293-3587

Lee & Rick’s Oyster Bar sits on the corner of S Van Buren Avenue and Old Winter Garden Road. This is a no-frills location but that doesn’t impact the quality of the food or the welcome you get from their friendly staff.

I came for an early dinner, sampling their fried, fresh fish that’s beer-battered and deep-fried with coleslaw and crunchy French fries.

When the chance came to visit a second time, I was able to appreciate a steamed seafood platter with some friends and family.

The platter was full of shrimp, clams, mussels, crawfish, and snow crab. Like any great seafood platter, this one had corn on the cob and potato wedges.

Red Lobster

Multiple locations

Red Lobster has multiple locations throughout Orlando, Florida. You can find one near Universal Studios and another near Health Center Hospital.

I decided to hop in while on a lovely trip to Universal and was immediately drawn to the family meal deal thanks to its delicious options at a great bargain.

The Seaside Shrimp Trio Family Feast was fit for a royal banquet. It featured tasty and garlicky shrimp scampi, creamy shrimp linguini with Alfredo sauce, and the simple Walt’s Favorite Shrimp dish.

The catch of the day at Red Lobster is often a flaky and tasty Atlantic salmon plate served with two sides.

BigFin Seafood

Location: 8046 Via Dellagio Way, Orlando, FL 32819
Phone: 407-615-8888

The BigFin Seafood eatery is an enormous establishment, spread out across 11,000 square feet. It’s located on “Restaurant Row,” so you can always hop between spots if that’s what you’re looking to do.

Despite its size, this is both a casual yet fine dining experience. If you’re in the mood for seafood, you’re in luck as there are plenty of tasty dishes here, including:

  • Seared yellowtail snapper
  • Macadamia crusted Mahi
  • Bigfin swordfish
  • Tempura Ahi tuna
  • Whole Maine lobster
  • Seared sea scallops
  • Honolulu shrimp

I tried the bigfin swordfish, which was decadently satisfying. They have a wide selection of wines but I couldn’t resist their handcrafted (and uplifting!) pomegranate margarita.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Location: 6000 Universal Blvd Suite 735, Orlando, FL 32819
Phone: 407-903-0044

When visiting Orlando, check out Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. The best part about this chain restaurant is that it sits right outside Universal Studios. In fact, this is an excellent choice for the whole family as they have a fantastic kid’s menu!

My favorite dish was a bowl of Mama Blue’s Shrimp Gumbo, which included flavorful fish, poached shrimp, andouille sausage, rice, and okra.

Another incredible dish was Shrimper’s Heaven, which lived up to its name, in my opinion, thanks to its exquisitely fried shrimp, tempura shrimp, and flaky coconut shrimp.

The dish included French fries and the variety of sauces was welcoming.

Deep Blu Seafood Grille

Location: 14651 Chelonia Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32821
Phone: 407-390-2420

If you’re in the mood for sea bass, salmon, or cod, consider getting some seafood with a southern twist at Deep Blu Seafood Grille.

Another waterfront restaurant with stunning views, Deep Blu has contemporary decor, leaving you feeling welcomed and relaxed after a trip to the nearby Disney store.

The upscale restaurant serves impressive dishes, like the deep blue crab cake, which was a tasty treat with lemon aioli and pea tendril.

I tried the Key West sunset ale for an uplifting refresher and was happy to discover it was a perfect drink to finish off my meal.

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood

Location: 5111 DTC Pkwy, Greenwood Village, CO 80111
Phone: 720-826-7488

Eddie V’s Prime Seafood restaurant stands on the corner of DTC Parkway and East Belleview Avenue. This elegant and sophisticated chain restaurant serves amazing seafood alongside outstanding steak options.

Of course, their specialty is seafood, which I tried out with their shellfish tower that I split with my friends and family.

The tower included shrimp, Maine lobster, crab, and oysters. All in all, this was absolutely exquisite!

This might surprise you, but I thankfully had room for the Chilean sea bass. It was an excellent dish, served in a light soy broth that delighted my taste buds.

High Tide Harry’s

Location: 4645 S Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32822
Phone: 407-273-4422

The unique and casual High Tide Harry’s restaurant is family-owned and has been serving diners since 1995. That experience tells in their wonderful food and friendly service.

When I came here for dinner, I loved trying the crunchy popcorn shrimp as an appetizer and the flavorful white fish filet with a lobster tail.

You’ll have plenty of options when it comes to drinks. I chose the sweet key lime pie martini, a perfect drink to pair with my seafood.

Paddlefish

Location: 1670 Buena Vista Dr, Orlando, FL 32830
Phone: 407-934-2628

The Paddlefish is a waterfront restaurant right in the heart of Downtown Disney. Here, you will also see the STK Steakhouse, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, and the Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill.

This restaurant is housed in a gorgeous moored steamboat, and I felt as if I had fallen into the pages of a Mark Twain novel.

The Paddlefish provides an excellent fine dining experience for all. My favorite dishes included the crab cake and calamari for appetizers.

The stuffed cod was so delicious and was the perfect complement to this restaurant’s luxurious, yet welcoming setting.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room

Location: 9101 International Dr Suite 1002, Orlando, FL 32819
Phone: 407-363-4801

The Oceanaire Seafood Room stands right by the Rosen Plaza Hotel and near the Hyatt Regency Orlando hotel.

Nearby, you can have a fun afternoon at the Andretti Indoor Karting & Games Orlando amusement center. You can also enjoy the Dave & Buster’s down the street.

When I came to the upscale and trendy Oceanaire Seafood Room, I ordered the savory jumbo shrimp cocktail with spicy cocktail sauce. I adored my time, so just had to make a second trip to enjoy:

  • Seafood chopped salad with crabmeat and shrimp, which had a delightful texture
  • Pan-seared Atlantic salmon
  • A side of truffle whipped potatoes

Their staff were super-friendly on both occasions and were happy to help me select the perfect wine to accompany my meals.

Todd English’s Blue Zoo

Location: 1500 Epcot Resorts Blvd, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830
Phone: 407-934-1111

Todd English’s Blue Zoo is run by world-renowned celebrity chef Todd English, who serves food with both American and international influences.

The restaurant has a beautiful and trendy feel, and I found its nautical theme absolutely charming. You can find the restaurant near the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel and Shula’s Steak House.

When I visited the eatery, I instantly fell in love with the shrimp cocktail starter. But that was eclipsed by the sumptuous flaky swordfish in a white wine sauce.

My night only got better with the tempura green beans and roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon on the side. The warm chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream was the perfect end to my meal.

  1. The Happy Snapper on South Orange Avenue has the best grilled grouper we have ever eaten. The ambiance is lacking but the food is excellent.
