Welcome to Scottsdale, where the sun shines 314 days a year, and the official food is chili. Even if those two facts seem contradictory, Scottsdale remains one of the most popular destinations in Arizona. Tens of thousands of visitors flock to the West’s Most Western Town to enjoy the nightlife, the scenery, the nonexistence of Daylight Saving Time, and over 200 golf courses.
One of the highly appealing features of Scottsdale, Arizona, is the outstanding restaurant selection. Tourists from all around the world travel to Scottsdale to enjoy the unique cuisine. Offering everything from its famous chili to a stellar seafood selection, the best restaurants in Scottsdale have something for everyone.

Citizen Public House
7111 E 5th Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Located right in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, the Citizen Public House is a contemporary take on an old idea.
This award-winning restaurant made waves when it opened in 2011, recognized by more than one prominent publication as the best new opening of the year. In downtown Scottsdale, that’s no small feat! And of course, the restaurant serves as host to Bernie Kantak, a nominee for the Best Chef in the Southwest.
Citizen Public House is an excellent location for any dinner event. The menu is bursting with variety and excitement, delicious flavor promised on every page with classic dishes like sea scallops, short ribs, and buttermilk chicken breast. You cannot go wrong with the Amaro Meatloaf, served with smashed potatoes and roasted zucchini. Add on the Original Chopped Salad for a healthy side, and don’t forget to try the Chocolate Pot de Crème for dessert!
7125 E 5th Ave #31, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
This charming gastropub serving farm-to-table American fare sits in Scottsdale’s famous Craftsman Court with a reputation for creative cuisine and continuous innovation.
Chef Charleen Badman and Front of House Manager/Beverage Director Pavle Milic co-own the restaurant. They utilize their combined expertise to create an outstanding environment where you can enjoy a rotating wine list, seasonal specials, and special events every Sunday.
FnB is a classic location for private events. The restaurant features the best of what local Arizona farms have to offer, known for specially curating seasonal menus to fit the changing availability. My favorite feature, however, is the impressive wine list that showcases Arizona-produced wines. Local businesses supporting local businesses have never looked this good.
VIRTU Honest Craft
3701 N Marshall Way, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
North of Goldwater Boulevard and south of East 2nd Street, the VIRTU Honest Craft was rated in Esquire’s list of Best New Restaurants in America.
Since its debut in 2013, the restaurant is the dreamchild of Phoenix’s favorite, Chef Gio Osso. With his restaurant, Chef Osso has complete creative control of this intimate, inspired, Mediterranean-style meeting spot. Hosting an event here ensures the personal attention of the man who started it all.
VIRTU Honest Craft is famous for its outstanding combination of seasonal produce from local farmers, seafood imported from the best markets in North America, and a handmade pasta selection that lasts for days. The three-course menu includes delicious pairings curated by the chef himself. Whatever you do, don’t forget to add the cheese course before dessert!
6939 E 1st Ave, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Café Monarch is a fine dining location where dress codes are necessary and good times await you. As one of Trip Advisor’s Top Three Dine Dining Restaurants in America, Café Monarch presents a four-course menu of New American fare that is fastidiously designed to create the best fine dining experience possible.
Located in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, this family-owned restaurant is constantly making improvements to refine the experience they offer.
This award-winning restaurant is one of the fine gems of Scottsdale’s selection. I love getting dressed up in my best formal wear for a night out at Café Monarch. There is no shortage of unique flavor profiles, each course deliciously precise. For all my fellow pomegranate fans, their Autumn Soup is superb.
8015 E Roosevelt St, Scottsdale, AZ 85257
Chula Seafood is the premier seafood option on the south side of Scottsdale. Just across the street from the Vista del Camino Park, this family-owned market and restaurant is the ultimate seafood destination in the Arizona desert. Serving only the freshest fish from southern California, Chula Seafood is the pride and joy of south Scottsdale.
Returning customers boast that there’s no better place to get a delicious poke bowl. The salmon sashimi is a common favorite, offering an abundance of quality salmon and delicious pairings. Specials change every day; I highly recommend visiting on a Saturday and experiencing the Butter Poached Lobster Roll.
Hush Public House
14202 N Scottsdale Rd #167, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
Located right on North Scottsdale Road, Hush Public House is the perfect destination for a fancy date or a family event. You’ll enjoy an entire culinary experience with a comfortable atmosphere that feels classy and fun.
This lively, trendy menu includes a fine selection of meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. Opened by Dom Ruggiero and Charles Barber in early 2019, Hush Public House is a rare dining experience that I cannot recommend enough.
The menu is filled with unique pairings of vegetables and protein, including a seafood selection guaranteed to satisfy. The Fig Toast with whipped ricotta is the surprising underdog on this menu, and the Duck Fried Rice with homemade Rayu oil is an outstanding dish that you can’t get anywhere else.
Andreoli Italian Grocer
8880 E Vía Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Scottsdale’s premier Italian grocer seats on a first-come, first-serve basis, so arrive early for your dinner party. This is the authentic Italian experience that you’ve been craving. Located in North Scottsdale, just past the Talking Stick Resort, Andreoli’s is the perfect place to enjoy a night out with the family.
Chef Giovanni is the master of Italian cuisine and notoriously quick wit. Unapologetically a fan of all that Andreoli’s has to offer, he would compel each visitor to enjoy what he calls the best food in the world. I haven’t eaten Italian cuisine all over the world, but I know for a fact that the Abbuffino sandwich on focaccia with calabrese salami and smoked mozzarella is quite possibly from heaven itself.
Franco’s Italian Caffe
4327 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Speaking of outstanding Italian restaurants in Scottsdale, have you been to Franco’s Italian Caffe? Do yourself a favor and get over to North Scottsdale Road for an authentic Italian Florentine experience. Opened by Franco himself, the restaurant offers fine Italian dining in an atmosphere of love and care.
Franco’s offers a delectable Petto Di Pollo Piccata with lemon, white wine, and butter capers for a real taste of Italian cuisine at its finest. Ask your server for the perfect California wine selection, and don’t forget to indulge in their one-of-a-kind Mascarpone Cheesecake before you go.
3720 N Scottsdale Rd #201, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
If you have never experienced an authentic Omakase room, then Shinbay by Shinja Kurita needs to be on your list.
Shinbay offers authentic Japanese cuisine and an atmosphere with two seating times each evening that ensures a comfortable and pleasant dining experience. Sitting between the Southwest Village and Plaza de Los Medicos, Shinbay focuses on providing authenticity at every turn.
The small, intimate setting allows you and your company to enjoy an authentic Omakase meal that is guaranteed to deliver. And the reasons to check it out are only increasing! A partnership with the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art allows Shinbay guests to receive complimentary admission to the museum.
Located in Scottsdale’s bustling Kierland Commons, the relaxed environment of this Italian restaurant on Greenway Parkway is just one of the many reasons to check out Postino Kierland. Whether you’re looking for dinner, brunch, or an opportunity to enjoy some liquid libations in the warm Arizona sun, Postino has something for everyone.
The menu of Postino is filled with authentic Italian options that are guaranteed to satisfy your pasta cravings. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, make sure you check out their sweet potato wedges. With chives and chile tahini, these are unlike any sweet potatoes you’ve ever had.
8220 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85258
Twisted Grove is a modern take on New American cuisine that caters to local providers and has become a neighborhood favorite in Scottsdale.
The brainchild of experienced restaurateurs, Twisted Grove, has no shortage of exquisite options that fit whatever craving you might experience. Sitting in North Scottsdale by Marguerite Lake, Twisted Grove is spacious enough for any dinner event you might be hosting.
Twisted Grove Parlor and Bar has an extensive menu of starters, salads, sandwiches, burgers, unique entrees, and varying house specials. You can’t go wrong with the classic Bistro Burger that comes drenched in creamy Havarti cheese. And if you’re a short rib and gnocchi fan, then you’re in luck: Twisted Grove’s is superb.
7044 E Main St, Scottsdale, AZ 85251
Offering modern American cuisine and unique cocktails, Sel is one of the best restaurants that you’ll find in Old Town Scottsdale.
Their goal is to create one of the most memorable experiences you can have, and they deliver. The Chef’s Tasting Menu alone curates such a unique combination of cuisine that you won’t ever want to leave.
From red meat to seafood, you can pick from a selection of shareable big plate options or smaller personal meals that you can keep all to yourself. Don’t miss the opportunity to try their Lamb Dumplings and the New Zealand Elk Loin Chop with huckleberry mostarda.
10600 E Crescent Moon Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85262
Talavera is an exclusive Spanish steakhouse located at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale. More than just a hotel restaurant, Talavera is an experience all its own.
There is no better place to enjoy traditional Latin cuisine, complete with a unique selection of tapas and over 500 wines and cocktails to choose from. The Talavera is a true Spanish experience, where weddings and galas alike can be hosted in authentic style.
When I go to a steakhouse, I expect to find excellent steak. Seafood is likely an option as well, possibly chicken, but steak is the prime purpose for my visit. The menu items at Talavera are certainly all exquisite, but nothing quite compares to the 20-ounce bone-in Prime Ribeye. You haven’t truly lived until you experience what Talavera has to offer.
The Capital Grille
16489 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
The Capital Grille in North Scottsdale offers every possibility for dining in style. You can order online, you can schedule a private dining event, or you can place an order for curbside pickup.
However you want to experience your fine meal, The Capital Grille can meet your expectations. I highly recommend an in-house dining experience, where you can bask in the glow of Art Deco chandeliers that create a special kind of elegance guaranteed to impress.
The experts at The Capital Grille strive to provide the best experience no matter what they bring to your table. Using only the best, freshest ingredients, the Grille has the finest recipes with excellent presentation. It’s not easy to pick a favorite steak, but it’s worth trying the Bone-On Kona Crusted Dry Aged New York Strip. No steak will taste the same to you after that.
Eddie V’s Prime Seafood
15323 N Scottsdale Rd Suite E160, Scottsdale, AZ 85254
Eddie V’s is the sophisticated seafood dining experience you’ve always wanted. Just across the street from the Kierland Golf Club and the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, Eddie V’s is charismatic, elegant, and offers live jazz in the V Lounge. There’s nothing quite like the unique experience you receive at Eddie V’s Prime Seafood in Scottsdale.
Appetizers find a whole new level with the Shellfish Tower containing Maine lobster, shrimp, crab, and oysters. Bring in the second course of Lobster Bisque made with Maine lobster, and follow that with a Parmesan Crusted Sole.
If seafood isn’t your jam, the Filet Mignon will satisfy you. Top it all off with a classic Crème Brûlée or a flambeed Bananas Foster Butter Cake, and you will leave Eddie V’s feeling full and delighted.
There’s no question that Scottsdale is a veritable melting pot of fine dining experiences. With everything from Japanese Omakase to classic American farm-to-table fare, Scottsdale offers some of the finest dining experiences centered around the unique cuisine in the area.
Scottsdale has something for everyone. No matter what event you’re planning, you should have no problem finding an exquisite private dining location to host you and your compatriots. As long as you’re ready to get dressed up and experience the meal of a lifetime, Scottsdale will not disappoint.
