San Bernardino Restaurants You Should Be Dining At This Week

Enjoy amazing food at our favorite spots around SB.

Best known for its abundance of college institutions and its placement along Route 66, San Bernardino is one destination you shouldn’t miss out on during any trip to Southern California.

If you’re craving some of the state’s tastiest flavors, the city offers several incredible eateries, from pasta and Thai cuisine to Mexican fare and smoked steakhouse meats. Sounds interesting?

Check out my list of the best restaurants in San Bernardino.

Rose Apple Thai Cuisine

Visit Website

First up on my list of the best restaurants in San Bernardino is Rose Apple Thai Cuisine, nestled within the Tri-City Retail Shops shopping center.

This casual, vibrant eatery is an excellent takeout option for anyone interested in sampling pad Thai and other authentic, MSG-free Southeast Asian delicacies.

Their menu features salads, curry, noodles, and entrees prepared with your spiciness preferences. I loved their pineapple curry with duck, but I have also heard so many good things about their pad prik king and drunken fried rice with shrimp.

Treat yourself to their sweet sticky rice, fried banana, or coconut ice cream if you have room for dessert.

Miyagi Sushi

228 E Baseline St, San Bernardino, CA 92410
Phone: 909-889-3929
Visit Website

Miyagi Sushi, located within the Seccombe Lane neighborhood has a contemporary atmosphere where guests can unwind and enjoy fresh Japanese cuisine, including specialty rolls, sashimi, and udon.

During my last few visits to this restaurant, my happy go-to’s have been their edamame and shumai and tempura udon.

These dishes taste great with pink lemonade or raspberry iced tea and a side of steamed rice. Their best dessert option (trust me!) is mochi ice cream.

Mitla Cafe

602 N Mt Vernon Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92411
Phone: 909-888-0460
Visit Website

If you’re in the mood for authentic Mexican food, consider Mitla Cafe and their signature, home-cooked flavors.

You can find this vintage, family-owned restaurant minutes away from La Plaza Park. They offer a wide selection of dishes for anyone looking for a zesty breakfast or dinner.

If you stop by for breakfast, try their Spanish omelet or machaca. However, if you prefer dinner, you won’t go wrong with their carne asada or, my personal favorite, the enchiladas rancheras. Don’t forget to order a side of beans and rice to enhance your meal.

India’s Clay Oven

228 W Hospitality Ln, San Bernardino, CA 92408
Phone: 909-890-0090
Visit Website

You can find India’s Clay Oven by the Santa Ana River. This stylish restaurant serves quality Indian cuisine in a relaxed setting. I’ve stopped by here for a drink a few times but always find myself sampling their delicious food menu.

I love their flavorful dishes, especially the chicken tikka, which goes so well with one of their delightful chai tea or mango lassi drinks.

You can customize a curry dish with the protein, curry base, and spice level of your liking. The best side to pair with your meal is mango chutney.

Alfredo’s Pizza & Pasta

251 W Base Line St, San Bernardino, CA 92410
Phone: 909-885-0218
Visit Website

One of the finest San Bernardino places for tasty Italian cuisine is Alfredo’s Pizza & Pizza, located half a mile away from The Garcia Center for the Arts.

Its brick-covered exterior and checkered tablecloth seating give this family-friendly space an intimate, homey vibe.

I adored their ravioli with meat sauce, which was full of rich texture and went well with house wine. You can also customize a pizza with the toppings of your liking or choose a specialty pie to treat your friends. Don’t miss out on their hand-made cannoli if you want something sweet after dinner.

Lucy’s Mexican Restaurant

4151 N Sierra Way, San Bernardino, CA 92407
Phone: 909-883-4638

Blocks away from Wildwood Dog Park stands Lucy’s Mexican Restaurant, a casual eatery offering tasty street food and margaritas in a homey setting.

The space’s traditional murals give the space a more vibrant feel. When I visited, I was feeling extra hungry, so I couldn’t resist their delicious asada fries and matador nachos.

For my main course, I ordered the shredded beef burrito, which definitely satiated me. Their refreshing pomegranate margarita is the perfect way to complement your meal.

They serve breakfast every Sunday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Their kid’s menu offers plenty of tasty options, like bean burritos, quesadillas, and chicken tenders.

Black Angus Steakhouse

290 E Hospitality Ln, San Bernardino, CA 92408
Phone: 909-885-7551
Visit Website

Black Angus Steakhouse’s Western-themed aesthetic and homely atmosphere make it one of the best restaurants in San Bernardino for anyone craving mouth-watering seafood or steak at any time of the week.

What’s more, they have live music every Friday night from 7 PM to 10 PM. I loved their loaded potato skins, which I followed with their decadent filet mignon sandwich with fries on the side.

Pair your meal with a sparkling pomegranate lemonade or bullseye old fashioned to enhance the bold, smoked flavors.

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant

460 E Hospitality Ln, San Bernardino, CA 92408
Phone: 909-381-2747
Visit Website

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, near Tri-City Center, is another excellent option for Italian fare. Its lively atmosphere and distance from nearby hotels make it a popular destination for any family visiting the city.

Their selection of pasta and salads is bursting with flavors that make any night out unforgettable. When it comes to Olive Garden, you can never go wrong with their chicken and shrimp carbonara or five cheese ziti al forno.

I ordered the latter on my most recent visit, and couldn’t help having a house salad and breadsticks on the side.

In addition, they offer gluten-free menu options. For dessert, consider ordering their indulgent black tie mousse cake or chocolate brownie lasagna.

BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

1045 Harriman Pl, San Bernardino, CA 92408
Phone: 909-380-7100
Visit Website

You can find BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse in The Hub Shopping Mall, near the Inn by Marriott San Bernardino Hotel.

This family-friendly dining destination offers a relaxed, lively atmosphere that serves quality pub fare and award-winning craft beers.

I consider their New Orleans jambalaya to be the finest example of that dish outside of Louisiana, while their deep-dish barbecue chicken pizza is the finest in the neighborhood.

When it comes to sides, I can’t say enough good things about their cheddar mashed potatoes and rice pilaf. They offer plenty of gluten-free and low-calorie menu options, too.

Don’t miss out on their Handcrafted Vanilla Cream Float or Monkey Bread Pizookie if you’re interested in dessert.

Claim Jumper Steakhouse & Bar

1905 Commercenter Dr E, San Bernardino, CA 92408
Phone: 909-383-1818
Visit Website

Located minutes away from Southeast California College, Claim Jumper Steakhouse & Bar is the perfect option for American comfort food in a casual, Western-themed environment.

This family-friendly restaurant also offers catering services and is an ideal location for any private parties, from rehearsal dinners to birthday parties.

After starting with their Buffalo chicken wings or mozzarella sticks, I recommend their savory cheeseburger slider trio or chicken pot pie.

Don’t forget to check out their handcrafted cocktail menu, with particular favorites of mine being the crown apple mule and mai tai.

IHOP

Last but not least on this list of the best restaurants in San Bernardino is IHOP. You can find it west of the North Central neighborhood and near the heart of the Hudson neighborhood.

Here, enjoy gourmet pancakes and diner fare in a bright, casual setting at any time of the day. They’re also open all week.

I have a soft spot for their cupcake pancakes, but your appetite will be equally whetted by the bacon temptation omelet, big brunch burger, and ham and egg melt.

No matter what I order, I always add a side of hash browns, pork sausage links, or seasonal fresh fruit and apple juice or chocolate milk. They also offer gluten-free, senior, and kid’s menus.

Final Thoughts

Despite being roughly an hour away from Los Angeles, San Bernardino offers plenty of dining options for avid food lovers. I love exploring the city to pinpoint their best international or local specialties.

  1. Rosa Marias. Excellent food anytime. We don’t live in SB anymore. But if we did we would visit as often as I could. Five star in my book.
