Additionally, Greenpoint is home to many Polish residents and businesses, earning this northern neighborhood the nickname “Little Poland.”

Like many of the other areas in Brooklyn and the rest of New York City, Greenpoint is an excellent destination for food-lovers. While you can find several restaurants serving Polish classics, such as pierogies, kielbasa, and bagels, Greenpoint also offers other international fare scattered throughout the area.

But, with so many restaurants to choose from, you might start wondering which ones stand out the most? Luckily, I compiled this list of the best restaurants in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, to help you simplify your search and help you discover new favorite dishes every time you come to the city.

For the first entry on my list of the best restaurants in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, I recommend checking out Frankel’s Delicatessen & Appetizing, located on Manhattan Avenue, minutes from McCarren Park. This casual and contemporary eatery serves a fresh take on Jewish fare, making it an excellent option for anyone interested in enjoying a lighter meal.

I recommend trying their Everything Bagel with Nova Cream Cheese, The Nettie Speciality Bagel Sandwich, Pastrami, Egg, & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, or Roast Turkey Reuben. Each menu item tastes great with cold brew coffee or a side of horseradish beets. This restaurant also offers a catering menu for special occasions.

Next up on the list is Glasserie, a rustic yet stylish Mediterranean restaurant found on Commercial Street. Glasserie’s menus change daily, so you’re encouraged to stop by every day to try everything. In my opinion, their best dishes are Roasted Quails, Rabbit Filo Pastry, Tilefish, and Stuffed Grape Leaves. During my visit, I enjoyed their Glasserie Spritz, Hemingway Daiquiri, and Persian Gold cocktails.

You can find it on Manhattan Avenue, by the Nassau Avenue subway station. This vintage, family-owned donut shop is one of the best places in Greenpoint where you can enjoy the sweetest flavors.

My favorite specialty donut options are Bavarian Eclair, Honey Dip French Cruller, Bowtie, and Old Fashioned Volcano with Jelly. Of course, you can also make your own egg sandwich or breakfast platter. In addition, they offer seasonal specials, including gingerbread or chocolate peppermint donuts during winter.

Paulie Gee’s offers more than your standard pepperoni and cheese pizza options. In my opinion, you should order their Vegan Grapeful Dead, Ricky Ricotta, King Harry Classic, or Not the Quattro Formaggi pie with a Sixpoint Slide Sipper or Upside Dawn Golden Ale. They also offer a few soup and salad options if you’re in the mood for something lighter.

You can find Oxomoco on Greenpoint Avenue, across the street from the Black Rabbit bar. During my visit, this restaurant’s warm and airy ambiance surprised me. Executive Chef Justin Bazdarich’s Mexican cuisine is excellent when paired with tequila or cocktails. They also have a spacious bar for enjoying the city’s scenery or relaxing after a long and busy week.

During my visit to Greenpoint, I ordered their Beef Tartare Tostada, Smoked Mango, Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, and Pollo A Las Brazas. My favorite go-to drink options are their Ultimo Adios, Guava Margarita, and Frozen Amor Prohibo. They also serve brunch tacos and other tabletop favorites on the weekends.

One of the best restaurants in Greenpoint, Brooklyn that offers a fantastic seafood selection for locals and tourists alike is Greenpoint Fish & Lobster Co., nestled off the corner of Nassau Avenue and Eckford Street. Executive Chef Orion Russell and his team use all parts of the fish to create mouth-watering dishes as you dine in a small yet cozy space.

This restaurant offers a wide selection of small and large plates for any seafood lover. I recommend ordering their Lobster Roll, Buffalo Fried Oysters, Baja Fish Tacos, and Whole Steamed Maine Lobster. Additionally, they serve oysters and clams for $1 every weekday happy hour from 2PM to 5PM.

Nestled on Calyer Street, near the IRL art gallery and Triskelion Arts theater, Chez Ma Tante is one of the best American restaurants where you can enjoy Canadian-inspired dishes in a cozy yet refined space. They offer seasonal dishes and an extensive wine list to make any trip to Greenpoint memorable.

In my opinion, Chez Ma Tante’s best dishes are their Grilled Mackerel, Kedgeree, Pork Shoulder, and Falafel. You should also consider ordering a Hot Toddy or Tokyo Drifter cocktail with your meal. Their blackberry sorbet or lemon tart makes an excellent after-dinner treat, so be sure to try one for dessert.

Located on Bedford Avenue, a short walk from McCarren Park, Five Leaves is a popular spot where Greenpoint residents and visitors can enjoy quality New American cuisine with an Australian twist. This rustic eatery also has an extensive bar where you and your friends can wind down after an exciting night out.

I recommend starting with their seasonal soup and ordering their Lamb Shepherd’s Pie, Five Leaves Burger, Grass-Fed Aussie Striploin, or Market Fish with a side of truffle fries or roasted maitake mushrooms. You should also stop by their bar for a Dirt Nap cocktail, classic mimosa, or bloody mary.

I recommend sampling their Black Sea Bass, Double Cheeseburger, Veggie Burger, or Crispy Half Chicken with smoked fingerling potatoes or cauliflower. In addition, they offer weekend brunch and a wide selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. Personally, my top picks are Zelda Fitzgerald and Autumn Garage.

Don’t know where to eat in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, offering a tavern-like atmosphere and smaller dishes? Then, consider visiting Achilles Heel, located just off the corner of West Street and Green Street, a short drive from Greenpoint Beach. This quiet gastropub offers a relaxing setting to enjoy quality fare every night until midnight.

Although Achilles Heel’s menu isn’t as large as some of the previous entries on this list, there are plenty of tasty menu options you can try. I enjoyed their Skate Schnitzel, Cabbage Toast, Jamon Serrano, and Pork. If you’re in the mood for a refreshing cocktail, try their Red Lip, Pen Pal, or  Moon Ring.

Another restaurant I recommend for anybody looking for an engaging dining experience is Bernie’s, located on Driggs Avenue. This casual eatery has some of the best American comfort food in the city, making it a great place to take the whole family for dinner. In addition, Bernie’s hosts large private events, from birthdays to cocktail parties.

Suppose you’re dining out with your family or friends. In that case, I recommend starting with an order of mozzarella sticks or baked clams and trying their Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Paillard, Cheeseburger Deluxe, or Bernie’s Chicken Parm. Don’t forget to browse through their wine and beer menu!

One Greenpoint restaurant I recommend for anybody interested in quality Vietnamese cuisine is Di An Di, located on Greenpoint Avenue, a few minutes from American Playground. This restaurant has a hip and minimalist vibe, enhanced by the finest greenery. They’re open every day for dinner, except for Mondays.

Di An Di has excellent noodle, rice, and An Choi dinner options. Order their Banh Trang Tron, Ca Kho Rice, Mi Xao noodles, or Cha Gio if you’re in the mood for something different. This restaurant also lists several allergen information, making it easier for customers to avoid foods they can’t eat.

Little Tiffin is a Thai restaurant found on the corner of Manhattan Avenue and India Street. This intimate eatery, helmed by owner Monurai Bhakdina, uses the freshest ingredients to create flavorful, traditional dishes for everyone to enjoy. In addition, each dish gets served in authentic ceramics for a more authentic dining experience.

In my opinion, their best dishes are Crab Meat Fried Rice, Gang Massaman Curry, Pad Kra Pow Duck Breast, and Goong Ob Woonsen. I also recommend ordering their Khanom Jeeb Pak as a starter and Sticky Rice with Mango as a dessert. Don’t miss out on their sake, Thai iced tea, or lychee juice.

Don’t know where to find an excellent Chinese restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn? Then, consider ordering takeout or delivery from Chiko on Manhattan Avenue. Although this restaurant doesn’t offer indoor dining options, it has a modern and cozy backdrop if you stop by to pick up your food.

Although Chiko has a small dinner menu, each dish has a rich and authentic flavor. I recommend starting with their Cucumber Salad and ordering their Dan Dan Noodle or Spiced Beef Over Rice. Their Herbal Plum Juice or Bubble Tea is the perfect way to wash down anything spicy. They’re also open every night, except Monday and Tuesday.

Unlike the previous entries on my list of the best restaurants in Greenport, Brooklyn, Littleneck Outpost serves breakfast and lunch all day. I recommend ordering their succulent Smoked Salmon, Chicken Confit, Smoked Trout Toast, or Roast Pork. Don’t forget to top off your meal with an energizing coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

Last but not least on this list is Ovenly, located off the corner of West Street and Greenpoint Avenue, just a short walk from Transmitter Park. This casual wholesale bakery is an excellent option if you’re in the mood for something sweet. Founders Erin Patinkin and Agatha Kulaga take pride in sharing their recipes with the world.

Ovenly is one of the best places to stop by for breakfast during a trip to the city. I recommend sampling their blueberry rosemary scone or gluten-free granola and yogurt special. In addition, their best cakes, such as Brooklyn Blackout, are available in many sizes, including cupcakes.
