Dunedin Restaurants You Should Be Dining At This Week

Enjoy amazing food at our favorite spots around the city.

Dunedin, Florida is a popular destination on the Gulf Coast of the Sunshine State that’s known for its beautiful, clean beaches and gorgeous nature preserves like Caladesi Island State Park Honeymoon Island State Park, a very enticing spot for birdwatching.

The only thing more exciting than seeing all the ospreys throughout the massive pine forests of Osprey Trail is experiencing some of the many exquisite places to eat in Dunedin. For such a small city in the Tampa Bay Area, Dunedin sure is big on flavor. You can find everything from Japanese bistros and fresh seafood restaurants to classic southern smokehouses and much more.

The first place on my list is a place called Bon Appetit Restaurant and Bar. This is one of the most popular restaurants in Dunedin, Fl and it’s so easy to see why.

Bon Appetit is a waterfront restaurant with some of the freshest seafood in the city. They’re located off of Marina Plaza inside the Best Western Plus Yacht Harbor Inn, right next to Edgewater Park and the Dunedin Pier.

What I love about this place is the combination of the picturesque views of the water and the absolutely exquisite food. I recommend trying either the filet mignon or their delicious seafood bouillabaisse.

Lucky Lobster Co.

941 Huntley Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 228-1222
Visit Website

This next place is a bit more modern and it’s called Lucky Lobster Co.. This seafood restaurant is known for its delectable raw bar options and homemade soups. My absolute favorite thing to order from Lucky Lobster is the New England clam chowder, but the lobster bisque is a close second.

Check out Lucky Lobster off of Huntley Avenue near the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clearwater North/Dunedin. It’s conveniently located right next to some great places to get drinks like Cueni Brewing Co and 9th Bar Coffee Co.

Cafe Alfresco

344 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 736-4299
Visit Website

Up next is a place called Cafe Alfresco that you can find in between a couple of fascinating Dunedin museums like Penny Lane, Beatles Museum, and the Dunedin History Museum and right next to the Dunedin Downtown Market.

This old-school family restaurant has a massive menu full of delicious things to try. Some of their best menu items are the sesame tuna salad and their chopped steak sandwich.

This is easily one of the best places to eat near Dunedin, Florida if you want that laid-back, welcoming vibe of a family diner and the feeling of knowing that you’re supporting a local business.

The Black Pearl of Dunedin

315 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 734-3463
Visit Website

If you’re looking for fine dining in Dunedin, then look no further. The Black Pearl of Dunedin is a real treasure that you are not going to want to miss out on.

The Black Pearl is easily one of the best restaurants Dunedin has to offer when it comes to ambiance and presentation of cuisine. Each dish is clearly hand-crafted to very precise specifications in order to please both the eye and the palate.

My highest recommended menu item from The Black Pearl has to be the white truffle lobster risotto. It’s unlike any other risotto I’ve ever had.

Casa Tina

365 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 734-9226
Visit Website

Casa Tina is the first Mexican restaurant on my list and boy is it a good one. Their slogan is “Fresh, Healthy, Authentic Mexican” and they really nailed every part, in my opinion.

If you’ve never had chayote Relleno before, then head down to Casa Tina immediately. It’s a buttery-flavored squash filled with all sorts of delicious ingredients that you don’t often see on menus in many places. I strongly recommend it.

Casa Tina can be found right off of Main Street, right near the Lari White Pavillion park where you can find live music and other fun activities.

Clear Sky Draught Haus

680 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 286-6266
Visit Website

This next place, Clear Sky Draught Haus, is a great place to go in Dunedin for a couple of drinks and some great food. They’ve got hand-tossed pizzas, delicious Baja tacos, various slider sandwiches, and so much more!

Be sure to check out their daily specials like Burger Monday, Taco Tuesday, BBQ Wednesday, Flatbread Thursday, and even a Fish Fry Friday. Every day is a different food and drink special that you should really take advantage of.

Clear Sky Draught Haus is located off of Skinner Boulevard, directly adjacent to Soggy Bottom Brewery and just down the road from the Mease Dunedin Hospital.

Crown & Bull

319 Main St #5733, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 736-5284
Visit Website

Crown & Bull is another Main Street favorite of mine and another contender for one of the best Dunedin restaurants. It’s a New American joint that has a large menu, a martini bar, and live music. What more can you ask for?

I love to come here at night when the live band is playing so I can really enjoy the music with a cold beer and something tasty like their incredible grouper po’boy sandwich.

My favorite part about Crown & Bull is that they tell you right there on the menu where they source some of their ingredients. They utilize local farms, vendors and tell you exactly where your food came from.

Hog Island Fish Camp Seafood Restaurant & Bar

900 Broadway Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 736-1179
Visit Website

If you’re looking for seafood and a full bar, then come on down to Hog Island Fish Camp Seafood Restaurant & Bar. They have the most amazing fried fish here at Hog Island Fish Camp that I don’t know if I ever want to get fried calamari anywhere else again.

Come in and enjoy plenty of craft beers, cocktails, and lots of different wines to choose from. They also have both indoor and outdoor seating, so feel free to take a seat on the patio and catch some fresh air.

Check out Hog Island Fish Camp off of Broadway Avenue, right across the street from the Dunedin House of Beer and The Rusty Lyon.

Olde Bay Cafe

51 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 733-2542
Visit Website

Olde Bay Cafe is another one of my favorite restaurants near Dunedin, Florida. This place really has everything you could ever want from a waterfront restaurant.

They’re located off of Main Street, inside the Dunedin Marina, so close to the water that you’re pretty much dining on a dock. It’s no wonder they have some of the freshest seafood around.

I always recommend the peel n eat shrimp to anyone going to Olde Bay Cafe, but they also have a ridiculously delicious scallop wrap that I’ve never seen anywhere else. This is the best place to watch the sunset and eat dinner at the same time when you’re in Dunedin.

The Living Room on Main

487 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 736-5202
Visit Website

Right on the corner of Main Street and Highland Avenue is an American restaurant called The Living Room on Main. If you’re looking for a dog-friendly restaurant, then this is it. They have a charming outdoor patio where you’re free to bring your four-legged friends!

The menu is pretty standard here at The Living Room. All of their food is locally sourced and freshly made, you can really taste the difference too. I highly recommend the braised, boneless beef short ribs and the local catch fish.

730 Broadway Suite 4, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 221-5444

This next Dunedin restaurant is called Caracara and you can find them off of Broadway, in the same building as Rosie’s Tavern of Dunedin and the Dunedin Coffee Company & Bakery. Basically, you can get dinner, drinks, and coffee the next morning all in one spot!

They serve lunch, dinner, and even an amazing brunch menu here at Caracara. The food is inspired by many different cultures so you get a lovely, diverse selection of meals to choose from based on what you’re in the mood for.

I would definitely recommend one of their delicious, healthy lettuce wraps, but they have so many other amazing options that it’s hard to choose just one!

Dunedin Smokehouse

471 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: 123-456-7890
Visit Website

When you’re looking for some good, old-fashioned barbecue in Dunedin, Dunedin Smokehouse is really the only logical choice. When it comes to the best restaurants in Dunedin, Florida, no one does BBQ like this place.

The Dunedin Smokehouse is lively and fun, with live music playing often, so it’s really a must-visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy a night out in Dunedin.

I strongly recommend their sliced brisket dinner, but some other incredible menu items from The Dunedin Smokehouse include the pork shoulder dinner and the slow-smoked St. Louis ribs. I love their dinners because they come with 2 side dishes as well.

Flanagan’s Irish Pub

465 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 401-3477
Visit Website

Right down the street from the John R. Lawrence Pioneer Park on Main Street is Flanagan’s Irish Pub, one of my favorite places to grab a drink in Dunedin. They also have some scrumptious bites to eat here, as well.

Sometimes all you need is a cold pint and some bar food. I always order a Reuben sandwich when I come to Flanagan’s because they make it with their phenomenal Guinness corned beef on grilled rye bread. Surprisingly, they also serve a veggie burger that is absolutely outstanding in case anyone was hoping for something a bit healthier.

HopScotch Cafe

1006 Broadway, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 223-5227
Visit Website

HopScotch Cafe is my number-one hole-in-the-wall spot in Dunedin that I always enjoy stopping in at. They have one of the greatest selections of craft beers in a can that you can find in the whole city.

This place is unpretentious and chill, just the way I like it. This intimate haunt is perfect for when you just want a quiet meal in a cozy spot with a nice cold beer.

Check out HopScotch Cafe off of Broadway, right next to the 7venth Sun Brewing Company and directly across the street from the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Clearwater/Dunedin

Parlor House Bistro

1757 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 754-3978
Visit Website

Up next we have a charming establishment called Parlor House Bistro where you can find all sorts of modern French delicacies and refined cuisines.

There’s no better place to go in Dunedin for escargot than Parlor House Bistro. The fresh bread and herb compound butter mix divinely with the white wine and aromatics, creating a mind-blowing flavor profile that you probably won’t find elsewhere.

You can find Parlor House Bistro off of Main Street in the same plaza as Delco’s Original Steaks, right across the street from the Vision Ace Hardware store.

Pisces Sushi & Global Bistro

799 Highland Ave, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 216-6764
Visit Website

Pisces Sushi & Global Bistro is a modern sushi restaurant that’s lit up inside with neon lights and a lively atmosphere. This sushi place is a Dunedin favorite of mine thanks to their absolutely unbelievable sushi rolls.

I always opt for the Aztec roll which comes with panko-fried shrimp, avocado, and cucumber topped with seared tuna tataki, chipotle aioli, chimichurri, black bean & corn pico de gallo, plantain chips, and sesame seeds. It’s really quite a masterpiece when it arrives at your table.

Sea Sea Riders

221 Main St, Dunedin, FL 34698
Phone: (727) 734-1445
Visit Website

Wrapping things up, we’ve got Sea Sea Riders restaurant off of Main Street, right next to Armston Park, where you’’ find steaks, seafood, and drinks all in one place. They’ve been serving delicious food to the Dunedin community for 30 years now, with no sign of slowing down!

They have a dish there called “seafood cobbler” and it’s unlike anything I’ve ever had before. It consists of gulf shrimp, Cedar Key clams, and grouper in sweet corn chowder with buttermilk biscuits. You just have to try it.

Be sure to check out their assortment of craft cocktails as well. They even offer the option of adding CBD to one of them for a little extra relaxation!

Final Thoughts

Dunedin is a city that knows what it’s doing when it comes to restaurants. You’ll find all the fresh seafood you would expect from a coastal Florida city like this, but there are also some surprises like upscale French restaurants and down-South smokehouses that are easy to miss, but you really don’t want to. Don’t miss out on anything the next time you’re here and check out all of my top picks for restaurants in Dunedin!

If you’re heading south towards nearby Clearwater, you might want to stop in at some of these incredible restaurants when you get there!
