I recently indulged in a Phoenix vacation and I filled my days with all the most popular attractions, as well as some lesser-known finds.

I explored Roosevelt Row, a historic neighborhood, took in musical performances at Arizona Federal Theater, met the locals at Downtown Phoenix Farmers Market, and more.

And of course, I spent a lot of my downtown Phoenix stay enjoying delicious meals at local restaurants. Check out my list of the best downtown Phoenix restaurants below!

Breakfast Club is exactly what it sounds like: it’s all about breakfast! And super-tasty breakfast, at that. I heard about this well-known spot soon after getting to downtown Phoenix.

I went there for breakfast the next day, and I had the delectably sweet French Toast. No matter what kind of breakfast you prefer, there is something for you at this local institution.

Some examples of popular dishes include the Breakfast Burrito, Eggs Benedict, Huevos Rancheros, and French Toast.

You can also have lunch at Breakfast Club. Breakfast Club is conveniently located less than a mile from Chase Field, an iconic sports stadium.

Have you ever had a Cornish pasty? If not, you’re in for a legendary experience. This unique establishment is all about authenticity.

The aptly named Cornish Pasty Co is Cornish-owned and operated, and it’s been around since 2005. I adored Cornish Pasty Co’s traditional British pub atmosphere.

The restaurant offers an abundance of tasty dishes, including Chicken Pot Pie, Bangers and Mash (a traditional British favorite), and Guinness Stew.

And, of course, there are the pasties. Lots and lots of them! Check out the Signature Pasties, Premium Pasties, and Vegan & Vegetarian Pasties sections of the menu.

CiBO Pizzeria is one of Phoenix’s must-visit attractions if you love pizza. And who doesn’t? It’s definitely one of my favorite foods.

The restaurant has a unique location, housed in a historic bungalow. It was built way back in 1913. Wood-fired pizza is CiBO’s specialty.

Some scrumptious offerings include Margherita Pizza, Gluten-Free Pizza, Wood-Fired Pizza, Spicy Salami Pizza, and White Pizza. You can also have pasta dishes at CiBO, but only if you visit after 5 pm.

They’re well worth the wait, though! I tried the Cappelletti Alla Panna, which is cappelletti (also known as tortellini) and a delightfully smooth cream sauce, adorned with peas and more. You’ll also appreciate CiBO’s convenient North 5th Avenue location.

The Churchill

You’ll remember I mentioned Roosevelt Row earlier, a historic area in downtown Phoenix. Well, The Churchill is one of the best spots in this area.

But this establishment goes far beyond just a restaurant. It’s exactly how it describes itself, a gathering space.

It includes four, yes four, individual restaurants, as well as two bars and a wine shop. It even boasts a few retail shops. All The Churchill’s businesses share a courtyard, to ensure a sense of community.

The Churchill is all about collaboration and fun. There’s a cool and laid-back atmosphere, and you’re sure to see and meet lots of locals here.

Hanny’s is an essential part of the craft cocktail scene in downtown Phoenix. The cuisine here is aptly described as chic-casual.

Go ahead and find this legendary spot on the southwest corner of 1st Street and Adams. This restaurant is found in a former department store, and that historic store went by the same name.

Hanny’s is all about preserving heritage in a laid-back way. I loved the eclectic atmosphere here. There are plenty of menu items here to pair with your drinks, including various entrees, pizzas, and salads.

Dust Cutter

50 E Adams St, Phoenix, AZ 85004
Phone: 602-333-5117

Dust Cutter is located at Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Where did this restaurant get its name?

It takes its name from one of its cocktails. Beware! It’s a strong one! This establishment describes itself as a “modern urban saloon,” and I think this is particularly apt.

It brings in edgy elements of contemporary style. For a meal, head to Dust Cutter for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Centrico is situated within downtown Phoenix’s historic San Carlos Hotel. This restaurant is an essential destination for anyone who loves traditional Mexican cuisine. That certainly includes me!

There are lots of popular meals here, such as the Fish Tacos, Chile Verde, Shrimp Tacos, Carne Asada Tacos, and Chicken Enchiladas.

I tried the Tacos Gobernador at Centrico. They were a rare treat, with shrimp entomata, crema, cabbage, and Oaxaca cheese with corn tortillas. Yummy! Add on a side of rice, too. It’s excellent.
