I love to travel. Traveling is a beautiful opportunity to learn about a new culture, see new sights, have new experiences, and most importantly, eat delicious food.

France is personally one of my favorite places to travel. France has a rich culture and an incredible history, and French cuisine is some of the best in the world.

It is hard to go wrong with a French restaurant in France. In addition to food, I also love the mountains, and during a recent trip to France, I decided to visit Chamonix. Chamonix is home to Mont Blanc, one of the most famous mountains in the world.

In addition to hiking and exploring mountains, I ate at many restaurants in Chamonix and came up with my list of the best restaurants in Chamonix.

Each of these restaurants was wonderful in its own right, and I highly recommend them.


Le 3842

Le 3842 is on one of the mountain peaks on the south side of Chamonix. In addition to serving up incredible food, this restaurant has one of the best views of any restaurant I have ever eaten at.

You reach the restaurant by taking a cable car to the peak. Le 3842 is a popular restaurant, and I highly recommend booking a reservation.

I ordered the Raclette, a French dish that is very popular in the Alps. The dish consists of potatoes, meat, and cheese melted under a unique lamp. It was delicious, and I would highly recommend it.

Panier des 4 Saisons is in downtown Chamonix. To get here, you must turn down a side alley and quickly find yourself removed from the hustle and bustle of Chamonix’s main streets.

The interior of the restaurant is cozy and charming. I ordered the traditional French dish of Coq au Vin, which did not disappoint.

The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. I recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends.


Hôtel Hameau Albert 1er

Hotel Hameau Albert 1er is across the street from downtown Chamonix’s French national ski school. Its proximity to this school is fitting, given the importance of skiing in Chamonix and the surrounding area.

The restaurant is fantastic and is worth visiting, even if you are not staying in the hotel. The menu features several set dining experiences.

I enjoyed the “Call of the Summits,” which included crayfish, trout, sweet breads, and cheese. It was a delight that I would gladly order again.


Chez Constant

Chez Constant is in the Le Lyret neighborhood of Chamonix and is just down the block from the Chamonix Sud cable car.

Do not let the humble setting fool you. Chez Constant serves up fantastic food at a reasonable price. I ordered the Filet Mignon, which was perfectly cooked and came with an excellent sauce.

The dish also came with potatoes that were some of the best I have ever had. Chez Constant is a great place to go for a casual meal with friends or family.


Restaurant Le Cap-Horn

Restaurant le Cap-Horn is in the center of Chamonix and sits on the Arve river. It has one of the best locations of any restaurant in Chamonix, and the river adds a level of romance and wonder to this already fantastic restaurant.

In addition to serving up traditional French food, Le Cap-Horn specializes in seafood and sushi. I ordered the sushi, which was some of the best I have ever had.

The fish was incredibly fresh, and the rice was perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or a romantic dinner.


Munchie

If you are interested in some comfort food served with a French twist, check out Muchie. Muchie is just across the street from Le Cap-Horn in downtown Chamonix.

The restaurant specializes in small plates that arrive as the food is ready. Munchie is the perfect restaurant if you are in a sharing mood and want to share a meal with friends.

I ordered the Tempura fried softshell crab taco, which was delicious, and the Pork slider, which is a sandwich is Korean crispy pork and pickled onions with a basil and parmesan sauce.

Both dishes were fantastic, and I would highly recommend them.


La Maison Carrier

La Maison Carrier is in downtown Chamonix near the National Ski School and Hotel Hameau Albert 1er. This delightful restaurant specializes in the food of the French mountains.

Only the freshest ingredients are used, and the old farmhouse provides a beautiful rustic setting for dinner.

I ordered the candied breast of pork. A sweet pork dish served with creamy polenta. It was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it.

Looking for a beautiful dining experience in Chamonix, look no further than La Maison Carrier.


La Télécabine

La Télécabine is in downtown Chamonix, near the bridge over the Arve River. It is conveniently located near the occasion and several shopping centers.

It has a beautiful outdoor seating area where you can enjoy a view of the mountains. La Télécabine is the perfect place to go for lunch.

I recommend the veal shank and the cheese board. The veal shank was perfectly cooked, and the cheese board was a perfect way to end the meal.

If you are looking for a casual dining experience in Chamonix, La Télécabine is the place for you.


Le Matafan

Le Matafan is on downtown Chamonix’s west of the Arve River. It is near the Eglise Saint-Michel and the Des Cristaux Minearl museum.

It is the perfect place to stop for a quick bite to eat after exploring downtown Chamonix. I recommend the mushroom risotto.

It was one of the best risottos I have ever had. It is creamy, delicious, and perfect for satisfying your hunger without weighing you down.


Satsuki

Satsuki is on the west side of the Arve River near the Teleski du Savoy and the La Folie Dounce Hotel. Satsuki is a great place to eat after hitting the slopes and having worked up an appetite.

The Satsuki is a Japanese restaurant specializing in Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, and Tonkatsu. The sushi is some of the best I have ever had.

The fish is incredibly fresh, and the rice is perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something a little different while in Chamonix.


Vert Lodge – Rooms, Bar & Restaurant Chamonix

Vert Lodge is on the North side of the Arve River on the west side of Chamonix. It is near the Promenade du Lac des Gaillands and sits at the base of the mountains.

It has a beautiful outdoor seating area that is perfect for a summertime lunch. The menu features various options, including curries, burgers, and salads.

I loved the Vert Beef Burger. Vert also has a great bar menu with fantastic happy hour specials.
