Where to Eat in Belmar

Belmar, as small borough on the coast of New Jersey, is a beautiful spot to visit and live in. There’s plenty to do here with the gorgeous views and proximity to the beach, however, there’s also a lot to eat in this little town. Filled with restaurants of every kind, Belmar is home to some delicious cuisine. I’ve put together a list of my favorite spots so you can pick out your own favorites.

With a wide range of cuisines from barbecue, to Italian, to seafood, there’s so much to explore in the restaurant scene. My list includes some casual spots for when you just want to relax after a long day as well as some higher-end spots. Keep reading to learn a bit about each location!

Craving some Italian food? Head over to La Dolce Vita. This local restaurant is located right on the ocean and serves up authentic Italian cuisine. With a patio and a full bar, you’re guaranteed to have an enjoyable night out.

The menu at La Dolce Vita is pretty extensive and even has a few gluten-free options. Be sure to try the burrata alla pesto, gnocchi fatti in casa, gamberoni francese, or stuffed prime cut pork chop. Don’t forget to swing by for happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday!

In the mood for seafood? We suggest Mr. Shrimp. This local spot doubles as a restaurant and a market, so you can enjoy your meal and buy some food to enjoy at home. With seafood classics in a nautical themed interior, you’ll love this place.

Mr. Shrimp’s menu is modest and a bit short, but just as delicious as any other spot. Try out the lobster tortellini carbonara, coconut halibut, salmon stir-fry, or veal milanese. Make sure to check out the crab leg and lobster dinners!

If barbecue is more you’re thing, you’re going to love Jersey Shore BBQ. This Texas-style restaurant serves up delicious barbecue cooked for hours and hours to achieve maximum tenderness and the ultimate taste.

Jersey Shore BBQ offers plenty of starters, burgers, and a build your own barbecue option. We recommend the chopped beef brisket, kielbasa, shrimp, St. Louis ribs, or pulled pork. Be sure to get some mac n’ cheese or bacon potato salad on the side!

Trying to find a great breakfast and lunch spot? Look no further than Comfi of Belmar. This neighborhood restaurant offers classic breakfast and lunch favorites in a diner-like setting. With an easygoing, laid-back atmosphere, you’ll feel right at home at this spot.

Serving all sorts of delicious plates, Comfi of Belmar is sure to please everyone in the family. Be sure to try the p.s. I love you benedict, banana mascarpone space station pancakes, sweet and stuffed cream cheese french toast, or California cheeseburger!

Open since 1929, Klein’s Fish Market is a must-try when in Belmar. This local spot offers a seafood market, dockside restaurant, and sushi bar all in one. With a view of the water and fresh food, you’ll want to keep coming back.

The menu at Klein’s is complete with plenty of seafood dishes and sushi options, but there are also some options without seafood if you’re not a fan. Try out the stuffed jumbo shrimp, blackened Florida snapper, fish tacos, spicy mama roll, or ocean roll!


Anchor Tavern

Looking for a late-night spot to grab some food? Stop by Anchor Tavern. Serving American cuisine and pub fare, this spot is open through the late hours of the night. With TVs, live music, and outdoor seating, there’s so much to enjoy here.

Anchor Tavern has two different menus – the regular menu and a late night menu. We recommend the gobbler, wood-fired brisket, fish n chips, or Oklahoma onion burger. Be sure to sip on a cocktail, wine, or beer!

Finishing up our list of restaurants is Kaya’s Kitchen. This local restaurant serves vegetarian and vegan cuisine like no other. With live music and a BYOB policy, you really can’t beat this spot.

Kaya’s Kitchen serves a vast array of cuisines all made vegetarian or vegan, so whatever you’re craving you’ll find something here. Try out the coconut pineapple curry, diablo tempeh, jambalaya, or build your own burger. Make sure to bring a bottle of wine!
