Potato chips as a snack never disappoint, so we’ve rounded up some of the best.

Potato chips are a timeless and classic snack food that everyone enjoys. They come in many different flavors, from plain to sour cream and onion to barbecue.

Potato chips are usually served as a snack, but sometimes people serve them as a side, especially barbecue foods like burgers and hot dogs.

There are many different potato chip brands, and I thoroughly enjoy most of the ones I’ve tried!

But in this article, I’ll be sharing the absolute best potato chips and describing why I like them, what makes them stand out, and the best time to eat them.

Best Potato Chips

Check out our favorite potato chips from different brands and flavors!

Kettle Brand Jalapeño Potato Chips

Kettle Brand Jalapeño Potato Chips are one of the best potato chips for spice lovers like myself!

I enjoy the level of crunchiness of these chips, the amount of flavor thanks to the garlic powder, and, of course, the perfect amount of heat thanks to the jalapeno powder.

What I enjoy most about these chips is that the jalapeño flavor isn’t artificial tasting like some other brands.

And, even though these chips are spicy, they’re not so spicy that my eyes water, so I have no problem eating the whole personal-sized bag.

Miss Vickie’s Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips

Miss Vickie’s Sea Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips are the best kettle-cooked chips on the market.

These chips are light and airy but still have a good amount of crunch. The flavor is perfectly balanced between sour and salty.

I love eating these chips alongside a juicy sandwich because the vinegar cuts through the heaviness of the meat and bread.

They are also great for dipping in sauces like ketchup or ranch dressing.

Tyrrell’s, Mature Cheddar Cheese and Chives

Tyrrell’s, Mature Cheddar Cheese, and Chives potato chips are some of my favorite flavored chips.

I love the sharp cheddar flavor and how it lingers in my mouth. The chives add a nice onion flavor without being too overwhelming, and I enjoy the crunchiness of these chips.

I think Tyrrell’s chips would be great for dipping in a creamy soup or eating on their own as a snack.

Lay’s Classic Potato Chips

You can’t go wrong with Lay’s Classic Potato Chips; as they say, you can’t just eat one!

Lay’s brand is synonymous with potato chips, and for a good reason. These chips are thin and crispy with the perfect amount of salt.

I like to keep a bag of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips in my pantry for when I’m feeling snacky or want to add a little saltiness to my palette.

I also highly recommend throwing them inside a deli sandwich to add a lovely crunch — trust me on this one!

Cape Cod Original Salted Kettle Potato Chips

Cape Cod’s Original Salted Kettle Potato Chips have the perfect amount of sea salt on them, making you want more.

I really enjoy the rustic look and feel of these chips. They also have a good amount of crunch — crunchier than Lay’s — and a flavorful oil without being too greasy.

If you liked the idea of putting chips in your sandwich and want it to be even crunchier, then opt for Cape Cod instead of Lays.

Cape Cod’s chips will hold up to wetter sandwiches such as a bbq pulled pork sandwich.

Ruffles Original Potato Chips

Ruffles Original Potato Chips are thick and sturdy, making them perfect for dipping.

I also really enjoy the wavy shape of Ruffles, as it allows for more surface area to hold onto whatever sauce or salsa you dip them into.

These factors combined naturally make them a great choice for parties, events, and game days.

Pringles, Sour Cream and Onion

Pringles are so fun to eat because of their unique shape, and Sour Cream and Onion are one of my favorite flavors.

I enjoy the balance of sour cream and onion and how the flavor lingers in my mouth.

Pringles are also great for on-the-go snacking, as they come in a sturdy and resealable container.

Zapp’s New Orleans Kettle-Style Voodoo Potato Chips

The Zappos brand is well-known for its fun and flavorful potato chips, and Voodoo is no exception.

I love the Cajun seasoning on these chips, as it gives them a nice heat. The chips are also thin and crispy, which I enjoy.

I think Zapp’s chips would be great for munching on during a movie or TV show. They would also be delicious with a cold beer.

Red Rock Deli Lime & Cracked Pepper Potato Chips

Red Rock Deli Lime & Cracked Pepper Potato Chips are some of the most unique tasting chips I’ve ever had.

The combination of lime and pepper is definitely not your typical chip flavor, but it works so well together.

The lime is refreshing, and the pepper gives just the right amount of heat.

Deep River New York Spicy Dill Pickle

If you love spicy chips and want to try something new, I highly recommend Deep River’s New York Spicy Dill Pickle chips.

Not only do they have a wonderful flavor and level of spice, but they are also a healthier choice.

They are cooked in sunflower oil, so they’re more suitable for those watching their intake of trans fats.

Torres Black Truffle Chips

Torres Black Truffle Potato Chips are a delicious and luxurious treat.

The chips are made with real black truffles, and you can taste the difference.

They are also quite thin and crispy, which I enjoy. I think these chips would be perfect for serving after a fancy cocktail party or dinner event.

Hawaiian Crispy & Crunchy Sweet Maui Onion

Last but not least are these Hawaiian Crispy & Crunchy Sweet Maui Onion chips that are seriously delicious.

The chips are made with the flavor of sweet Maui onion, a type of sweet onion grown in the volcanic soils of Maui.

If you like onion-flavored chips, you’ll be remiss not to try these!

Final Thoughts

There are so many delicious potato chips out there, and it was hard to narrow it down to just a few. But these are definitely some of the best potato chips on the market due to their perfect textures, unique flavors, and versatility.
