First up on my list of the best pizza restaurants in Baltimore is Isabella’s Pizza, located in the Little Italy neighborhood. This family-operated pizzeria has a cozy atmosphere, perfect for anyone looking for a quick bite after spending a day at the museum. They also offer catering services for any off-site celebration. I recommend trying their King Richard, Greco, Lombardi, or Bianca Pizza. They have a wide selection of brick oven subs, cold sandwiches, and salads as well. If you’re extra hungry, consider ordering the mixed olives or a mini chocolate-dipped cannoli as a side dish for an authentic taste of Italy.

If you’re around Riverside Park, one of the best pizza restaurants in Baltimore you should consider visiting is Hersh’s. This casual pizza spot has received several awards for its Neapolitan-style pies, creative small plates, and cocktails. It has a stunning bi-level dining room with mural-decorated walls. You can also enjoy pizza on their outdoor patio. Consider starting with their Summer Squash Fritti or Fire-Roasted Shrimp. For an entree, try my favorite: the Fire-Roasted Swordfish. It’s not pizza, but this dish is unforgettable. If your heart is set on pizza, though, their White Pies put an incredible, creamy twist on some classic pizza flavors.

With locations at Johns Hopkins University, Canton, Mt. Vernon, and Federal Hill, HomeSlyce is the best option for pizza, sandwiches, and calzones. They have a full-service bar, outdoor seating, and a skee ball machine. I consider it a great place for hosting any type of party. After starting with their Cheese Sticks or Baked Fries, consider trying my favorite menu option, the Pop-Pie Pizza, which features garlic sauce, gorgonzola, and goat cheese. If that’s not quite your taste, you can customize a pie or calzone with your crust, sauce, cheese, and topping preferences. They also offer $1 toppings every Tuesday.

One of the best pizza restaurants in Baltimore for anyone exploring the Canton neighborhood is Verde Pizza Baltimore, a rustic-chic eatery decorated with a wooden backdrop and hanging lights. Its historic aesthetic offers an immersive setting because of its proximity to the Patapsco River. Their pizza menu offers a wide selection of specialty, white, red, and vegan pies. I love starting with their Tuna Bruschetta and ordering a Gamberetti Puttanesca Pizza with a Flying Fox cocktail. The shrimp, crescenza, and capers pair great with the lemon and bourbon of this cocktail. If Verde seems a bit pricey, check out their deals, which they change every weekday.

It has a casual, old-school ambiance where you can sample New York-style pizza and other Italian dishes so it’s just a great place to eat all around. They craft their dishes with ingredients from local farms and Italian imports. I prefer ordering a New York-style pie with tomato sauce, ricotta cheese, ground beef, and roasted cauliflower. You can also order a customized pie with a gluten-free or cauliflower crust if you have specific dietary preferences. If you’re in a rush, their pizza is also sold by the slice so you can take it with you as you take on the town.

Their menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, pasta, risotto, and pizzas bursting with flavor. Birroteca’s best pizza option, in my opinion, is their Duck Duck Goose pie. As a flavor adventurer, the duck confit, fig-onion jam, and duck egg toppings are the perfect way to satisfy the tastebuds.

It’s a popular dining destination for several university students, has a warehouse aesthetic, and serves tasty thin-crust pizza. They don’t charge corkage fees for guests who bring their favorite wine to the restaurant. The Pistachio Pie is my favorite choice on the menu. Though it seems unusual, the mozzarella, pistachio, and rosemary provide a wonderful nutty flavor. It’s the best place to take guests you want to impress with your personal wine choices without having to pull out all the stops to cook dinner.
