Korea House Restaurant is smack-dab in the middle of Asiatown and New Chinatown in Cleveland, Ohio. They serve traditional Korean cuisine in a comfy and compact setting. There are plenty of Asian restaurants in this area, but Korea House is perfect if you’re looking for a low-key meal. Korea House offers the classic Korean BBQ experience with a grill installed directly on your table. I usually order a combo platter when going out for Korean BBQ, so I try as many meats as possible. At Korea House, I always come back to their charbroiled short ribs. If you’re not in the mood for BBQ, try their bibimbap or kimbob!

Unprocessed ingredients, healthy dishes, and authentic Asian cuisine are the elements that BIBIBOP focuses on in their restaurant. The founder and CEO, Charley Shin, grew up in South Korea and brought his knowledge to Cleveland to share with the community. You can find BIBIBOP a few blocks away from the Cleveland Botanical Garden. BIBIBOP is all about BYOB – build your own bowl. You start with a base, then add toppings, your choice of protein, and a sauce. I gravitate towards their spicy chicken bowl with gochujang sauce, but you can mix and match your favorites! They also offer chef-curated bowls if you’d prefer to make fewer choices for your meal.

Ha Ahn Restaurant

They also serve sushi if you’re in the mood for it! Their popular dishes include soft tofu soup, pork bulgogi, and seafood pancakes. Their sushi menu isn’t extensive, but it offers the basic sushi rolls that any sushi lover would love. Their menu includes traditional Korean dishes like tonkatsu, tteokbokki, and gyoza.

To me, Korean BBQ means grill tables for the traditional Korean-style barbecue. Miega Korean Barbecue offers this experience in a comfortable setting located in Asiatown. Their restaurant sits a few doors down from the Asia Town Center shopping mall and Asia Food Company. Miega Korean Barbecue serves traditional Korean and Chinese dishes. My favorite combo BBQ to order is the Chef Combo 2. It includes beef brisket, pork belly, and pork bulgogi. If you’re hungrier than usual, I recommend ordering the Chef Combo 3, which also adds LA galbi. Miega offers a vegetarian menu and noodle dishes if the barbecue isn’t your cup of tea.

Seoul Garden’s menu is full of delicious Korean and Japanese-style dishes. You can cook Jungol hot pot at your table, order one of their 14 different soups, or try a stir fry dish instead. The one dish I beg you to try is their spicy rice cakes. They have a sweet and tart flavor and a chewy texture that is cooked to perfection.
