St. Louis Indian Restaurants You Need to Try

Are you going to St Louis anytime soon? If you are, you should check out these Indian restaurants. I love to dine out when I’m in Missouri and there’s nothing better than authentic Indian cuisine to go along with the Gateway Arch and other famous St. Louis landmarks.

Even if you don’t like Indian food, these restaurants provide excellent service that gives you a lovely homely feeling when you are whipping up fresh dishes in your house.

They bring your courses fast, greet you with a smile, and most importantly, the food is terrific. If you’re ready for a mango lassi, you’ve come to the right place!

Here are the best Indian restaurants in St. Louis.

Haveli Indian Restaurant

First, if you’re on your way to the historic headwaters of the Des Peres river, you must stop by Haveli’s.

It’s one of the best Indian restaurants in the area, particularly for their chicken tikka masala curry, which has delectable chunks of chicken smothered in a creamy tomato curry sauce.

If you’re feeling like ordering something special, the goat curry is a perfect blend of meat, sauce, and spices.

They even have a buffet if you want to try a little bit of everything. If you have time after eating, you can go to Kings Park right down the street and enjoy the lovely scenery.

House of India

If you find yourself down University City anytime during your trip to St Louis, it would be a shame if you didn’t visit the House of India on Delmar Boulevard.

The Riverfront Times rated them the number one Indian restaurant for 14 years straight! The owner of this restaurant has seen it all, as they have been around since 1995.

They have helped kids grow into young adults and watched parents come through their restaurant doors with new additions to their family dynamic.

If you want to feel like a local, House of India is the place to go. Their garlic naan is top-notch, and the chicken tandoori always comes out moist and rich.

For an especially filling main course, try their saag paneer. The robust spinach and yogurt combined with their homemade cheese make this Indian dish a masterpiece of savory flavors.

Gokul Indian Restaurant

Another great restaurant that is located in University City but closer to the St. Louis Zoo and Forest Park is Gokul’s.

Sometimes, vegan and vegetarian diners have to pick and choose at restaurants, but this is not the case at Gokul; everything is 100% vegetarian!

The Vegetable Korma and Paneer Masala are big favorites of mine. The best part is that Gokul Indian Restaurant has a loyalty program for people who visit them daily.

That means you can earn points and get discounts on all of your favorite vegetarian Indian cuisine.

Rasoi

25 N Euclid Ave, St. Louis, MO 63108
Phone: 980-297-7722

If you think you’ll pass on the vegetarian food, try this place called Rasoi. They are close to Forest Park and the St. Louis hospital.

They cook their chicken masala perfectly, balancing the sweetness with just enough spice. The secret to their success is that they take extra care to prepare their food from scratch inside their kitchen.

Everything I ate there tastes like a home dish. Rasoi is worth a try if you like fresh, delicious food.

Taste of India

608 Eastgate Ave, St. Louis, MO 63130

If you are heading towards the Delmar Loop, stop by Taste of India for the lunch buffet. You can fill up on warm plates of curry and delectable, buttery naan.

I’m upset I don’t have any businesses in Louis because I would order the catering service for my associates every time.

The Tandoori dishes are to die for, especially the shrimp option, which is my favorite. If you’re worried about certain dining restrictions in your party, Taste of India’s menu features plenty of gluten-free and halal options.

Himalayan Yeti

3515 S Kingshighway Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63139
Phone: 314-354-8338

Are you a fan of Shakespeare? You should check out the historic statue located in Tower Grove Park. On your way there, stop by Himalayan Yeti, and you won’t be sorry.

My favorite dish is the classic butter chicken, which sends you to another place when you eat it. Himalayan Yeti is very kid-friendly, with plenty of lightly-spiced dishes for the little ones.

Not only is the food good, but the servers are quick to fill up your glass of water, which I appreciated immensely.

Mayuri Indian Restaurant

12513 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, Saint Louis, MO 63141
Phone: 314-576-7272

Millennium Park is a great place to exercise whenever you visit St Louis. With its sprawling 25 acres, sports areas, and playgrounds, it’s an ideal outdoor location for the whole family.

Afterward, you can go to Mayuri’s and get some tasty Indian cuisine as a post-workout meal. They have a full bar and free Wi-Fi, so it’s a great place to pass a little time.

The food is fantastic, especially the onion rava dosa. The variety of their dishes is truly special; it seems like they have everything!

Even picky eaters will find something to enjoy at Mayuri Indian Restaurant.
