I was recently in Charlotte for several weeks and was on the work grind.

I made it my mission to find the best happy hours in the city as a reward for myself and my co-workers.

In addition to great steaks, seafood, and cocktails, they have one of the best happy hours in the city.

Something that makes that Firebirds happy hour so special is the setting.

The restaurants have a lodge-like feel that helps you escape the rigors of work and the stress of the day.

The happy hour at the Firebirds features several rotating drink specials and deals on appetizers.

I enjoyed the martini and the deviled eggs.


McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood and Steaks

McCormick and Schmick’s is an upscale restaurant known for its seafood.

The inside of the restaurant has a club-like feel which is quite different from many restaurants in the area.

The vibe accompanies the happy hour well.

You can find Bulla on the corner of Sharon Rd and Carnie Blvd in the Barclay Downs neighborhood.

It is not far from park Road Park and Myers Park Country Club.

I ordered the gambas al ajillo (garlic shrimp) and the patatas bravas (fried potatoes).

The gambas were some of the best I’ve had.

The garlic was not overwhelming, and the shrimp were cooked well.

The patatas bravas were also excellent.

They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.

Don’t miss the wine specials, either.

I ordered the tuna tartare and the crab-stuffed mushrooms.

The tuna tartare was excellent. It was fresh and had the perfect amount of seasoning.

The crab-stuffed mushrooms were also delicious.

They were stuffed with crab meat and had a creamy sauce on top.
