San Francisco is famous for its beautiful sights and new adventures. Whether it’s the Golden Gate Bridge or a quaint, new coffee shop, the city of San Francisco provides endless places to go and new things to try.
One of the best parts of San Francisco is the delicious eats. Check out my list of the best Greek restaurants in San Francisco below!

Kokkari Estiatorio is a Greek and Mediterranean restaurant located in the Financial District of San Francisco.
One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the experience. The classy ambiance of Kokkari Estiatorio radiates throughout its interior and its cuisine.
However, this is not to be mistaken for a cold, modern restaurant. Its high ceilings, gorgeous woodwork, and welcoming fireplace bring warmth and an inviting atmosphere.
As for the food, I prefer to start with the Sparaggia, roasted asparagus. For my main course, one of my frequent picks is the Makaronia.

Located in Noe Valley district, NOVY Restaurant is home to tasty, traditional Greek cuisine. This location also offers brunch, and the Eureka Omelette is a must-have.
NOVY has delicious share plates to kick off your meal with—my favorite is the Grilled Halloumi Cheese dish.
The Panos Burger, with lamb, tzatziki, and olive tapenade, is a delicious, filling entree. Don’t forget to order a Grilled Pita Basket on the side!
Souvla has several locations of “fast-fine” Greek eateries across the city. The locations I’ve visited have been clean and modern.
As an individual with food allergies, I appreciate the allergen information that they provide for all of their menu items.
You can get any of their entrees in the form of a sandwich or a salad. Their primary selections are pork, chicken, lamb, and veggies.
Their veggie entree is just as hearty as its meat alternatives: core ingredients include garlic yogurt, mizithra cheese, and chopped kalamata olives.
I’m a sucker for Souvla’s Greek Fries, smothered in lemon juice and mizithra cheese. Souvla is also notorious for its Frozen Greek Yogurt.
A few of the unique flavors include Greek Olive Oil & Flaky Sea Salt and Cretan Wildflower Honey. My personal favorite is the Greek Sour Cherry Syrup.
Ayola is a casual restaurant with several locations. It offers simple, reasonably priced meals like salads, pita sandwiches, rice bowls, and delicious sides.
My go-to combination is the 9-inch Hortopita Pita Sandwich and the Eggplant Salad. They are only open Monday through Friday until 3 P.M., so snag it while you can!
But no worries, fellow procrastinators, you can order ahead on their website even when the locations are closed.

Located in the center of the Civic Center, Gyro King is a casual Greek cafe that is great for a quick bite. This location prides itself on its fresh, daily-made ingredients and dishes.
Gyro King’s specialty plates are plentiful, filling portions for reasonable prices. All meat plates come with homemade bread, Mediterranean rice, bulgur, salad, and tzatziki sauce.
The veggie plates come with just as many delicious add-ons, swapping the bulgur for hummus. I’ve tried quite a few specialty plates, but my usual order is the Vegetarian Combo Plate.
I also love how they offer meat skewers as a side portion—I usually snag a small Chicken Skewer to-go.
La Mediterranee, home to classic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, has three different locations in San Francisco.
My favorite location is the La Mediterranee Noe, located on Noe Street in the central Castro District. Although this location is closed on Mondays, there are plenty of delicious opportunities.
You cannot beat their weekend brunch. The Champagne Brunch Meza is by far one of the most delicious plates I’ve ever had.
A few of the delicious parts of this extravagant brunch include Cheese Karni Fillo, Quiche, and a Levant Sandwich.
La Mediteranee also offers specialty vegan and gluten-free menus. Don’t forget to try their Cucumber Yogurt Soup.
561 Columbus Ave, San Francisco, CA 94133
North Beach Gyros is a casual, Mediterranean restaurant located minutes from Washington Square. My favorite appetizer is the Spanikopita.
The puff pastry is perfectly flakey and delicious. As for the main course, I love the Falafel Wrap and the Moussaka Plate.
North Beach’s Moussaka Plate consists of eggplant, potatoes, several kinds of cheese, other veggies, and béchamel sauce.
550 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94158
SF Kebab, located directly across the street from the Chase Center, offers a welcoming environment and a variety of wraps, burgers, salads, gyros, and kebabs.
I couldn’t resist going to SF Kebab and ordering, well, a kebab! You can’t go wrong with their Beyti Kebab or their Beef Shish Kebab.
To get some more veggies in my diet, I like to order a House Salad to munch on while I wait for my main course.
3109 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94103
TRULY Mediterranean is located in the heart of the Mission District. It is a quaint location, but don’t let the small space fool you—TRULY’s menu is jampacked with a variety of filling, tasty options.
From my experience, nothing beats the Deluxe Falafel Wrap from TRULY Mediterranean. The falafels are the perfect combination of moist and crispy.
If you’d like to try something light, I recommend the Feta Wrap or the Hummus Wrap. Don’t forget to order a few pitas on the side!
The Greek restaurants in San Francisco are plentiful, but the hidden gems on the previous list are where the magic lies. Enjoy authentic cuisine and modern twists on Greek food at gorgeous locations.
While you’re checking out San Fran, I recommend taking advantage of a relaxing wine tasting or an interesting museum (before hitting a Greek restaurant, of course).
