For a taste of Greece that will remind you of tavern seaside resorts, Mina & Dimi’s Greek House delivers. Located near the Gateway Hills Golf Course off of Highway 90, this restaurant serves up delicious, authentic Greek food. They believe in providing a feast for all five senses and take pride in creating an engaging and memorable atmosphere.

The food at Mina & Dimi’s is incredibly flavorful. During my visit, I started the meal with a serving of spanakopita, two light phyllo dough pies stuffed with spinach and feta served with a side of dill sauce that was both creamy and decadent.

For the main event, I ordered kalamarakia, one of the house specialties. This entree featured fried squid with seasoned fries and two sides of greek salad and pita bread. The portions were large and reasonably priced. There is plenty of entertainment to be enjoyed as well. In addition to on-site belly dancers, they also throw wine tasting parties. Their famous annual Greek Toga Party is a not to be missed event.

Demo’s has been serving up reliably delicious and authentic Greek food for over four decades. 19-year-old Demo Karagas started the restaurant in 1979. With the help of his first-generation Greek mother, he was able to create a successful restaurant based on family recipes passed down through the generations.

The Meze plate is a great appetizer to kick off your meal, although the combination of spanakopita, tiropita, yalandji dolmas, and kalamata olives is quite large. You might want to split it with a friend or two. They have a variety of pita wraps to try and several samplers and combination plates that combine some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.

Thanks to the generous portion sizes, it can be hard to save room for dessert at Demo’s. However, I recommend you try as the desserts are to die for. In addition to the much-loved baklava, they offer finikia, a butter cookie dipped in honey and covered with walnuts.
