I went for a quick and satisfying lunch and ordered the gyro pita with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce with a side of deliciously crispy seasoned French fries.

Mediterranean Blue is a family-friendly authentic Greek restaurant in a bright and patriotic setting in South Orange, serving specialties from the Givoglu family’s treasured recipes.

The Mediterranean Blue menu has unique Northern Greek dishes and Mediterranean dishes using fresh ingredients with a homemade taste.

I started with their delicious Spanakopita, a baked spinach and feta filo dough pastry. My main entrée was a hearty Moussaka, an eggplant, potato, and ground beef casserole seasoned with cinnamon and topped with a luxurious bechamel.

They offer authentic Greek spirits, an upscale Greek food menu, nightly belly dancing, and Mediterranean music.

A favorite spot for adult parties, Taverna Opa, is as entertaining as it is delicious. The menu has wood-fired meats, seafood, and kebabs, along with a vast menu of mezze.

I recommend starting with the mussels and ouzo, followed by the main course of lamb shank with rosemary, garlic, orzo, and red wine sauce.

Owned by Greek native couple Jimmy and Tia Tsafonias, The Greek Corner is a vibrant and colorful casual eatery painted with murals of the Greek islands’ white and blue villages.

The menu has authentic Greek dishes and Greek takes on American classics. One of their signature dishes is the Greek burger with crispy bacon and feta cheese.

If you want a more authentic Greek dish, I recommend the Greek Salmon, flame-grilled salmon with a lemon and olive oil marinade over rice.

Athena Roasted Chicken is a Maitland neighborhood favorite for perfectly roasted and lemony rotisserie chicken and Greek side dishes.

They’ve been serving their famous chicken in a family-friendly restaurant with a lush, tropical patio since 1988. They source their ingredients locally and use hormone-free chicken.

They are as popular as a take-out restaurant as they are for dine-in. They have a full menu of Greek pitas, salads, soups, and entrees, but the dish to get is the rotisserie chicken.

You can get a whole chicken with sides or a platter for one with a quarter chicken and two sides. I love the lemon and herb flavor, the crispy skin, and the utterly moist meat.

They also have a wealth of pita sandwiches and gyro plates. The menu is on the wall behind the service counter, and you can choose between various entrée platters, combo meals, and pita sandwiches.

The lamb gyros are to die for. I had them over an authentic Greek salad with no lettuce with a side of creamy hummus heavily seasoned with hot paprika and an olive oil drizzle.

Teetering between Azalea Park and Union Park, Olympia Restaurant has been a family-owned Greek food staple in Orlando for over 40 years.

The cheesy faux Greek columns and neon back-lit Greek frescos lining the walls are an endearing and fun aspect of this longstanding restaurant’s allure.

The food is authentic and homemade using domestic and imported ingredients. I liked that you could choose sampler platters for both mezze and entrees.

My pick was the Olympia platter, featuring moussaka, dolmades, and roast lamb with rice and vegetables. The generous portions made this platter last until lunch the next day.

The menu is on a brightly lit billboard behind the order counter, featuring Greek specialties like pastitsio and gyros along with Middle Eastern shawarma.

The fried chicken menu has various dinner combos with classic southern sides like mashed potatoes and coleslaw.

I loved their falafel pita with tahini, onion, lettuce, and tomato. The falafel balls were perfectly light on the inside and crunchy on the outside.
