Only 30 miles north of the bustling city of Miami is the beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This stunning coastal city is famous for its beaches, boating canals, and luxurious atmosphere.
There’s no shortage of delicious restaurants to visit in Fort Lauderdale, but if you’re craving something elegant like French food, you’ll need to know where to look.
French cuisine isn’t the easiest to find in most cities unless you’re in New Orleans or France. Next time you’re in town, here’s where you can find the best French restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.
1506 E Commercial Blvd, Oakland Park, FL 33334
In Oakland Park, nestled into a bustling shopping mall on Commercial Boulevard, is Escargot Bistro. This warm and inviting French restaurant is pretty casual, but the food is what you’d expect from a French restaurant.
There are beautiful red leather chairs, white tablecloths, and staff that ensure you’re enjoying every second of your dining experience.
Escargot Bistro is open for lunch and dinner almost daily, but I chose to visit for dinner. Their menu features classics like French onion soup, various escargot items, and other traditional French dishes.
I highly recommend trying at least one of their escargot dishes here. I loved the traditional escargot and the escargot au gratin.
LBC Las Olas
815 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
On the main drag in Fort Lauderdale is LBC Las Olas. This quaint little cafe features covered outdoor seating that is the perfect place when the Florida weather cooperates or at night.
The restaurant is a little small, making it feel extra cozy and a more intimate experience. LBS Las Olas is a French-American bistro, so you’ll find a combination of cuisines on their menu.
I think it’s perfect when you’re craving French food, but someone else you’re with isn’t a huge fan. One of their most popular French items is their thin and crispy crepes.
I loved the ones drizzled with chocolate and topped with strawberries.
Le Patio – The tiniest cutest Restaurant in South Florida
2401 NE 11th Ave, Wilton Manors, FL 33305
You’ll find Le Patio north of the city center, on NE 11th Avenue. This tiny cafe is one of the most unique spots in town and needs to be on your list to try.
It’s a tiny patio with twinkling lights and minimal seating. It’s very intimate and perfect when you want a quiet night out.
Le Patio serves European comfort food and excellent European wine. Everything on their menu is delicious, but since you’re probably not ordering one of everything, there are a few dishes that stood out to me.
The truffled baby beef Wellington appetizer was tender and juicy, and their entree of escargot and scalloped potatoes were heavenly.
Rendez-Vous Bakery and Bistro
1576 E Oakland Park Blvd, Oakland Park, FL 33334
Rendez-Vous Bakery and Bistro is on East Oakland Park Boulevard in the Coral Brook neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale.
It’s only 11 minutes north of downtown and is an excellent restaurant for French cuisine. It’s a casual and rustic restaurant that attempts to mimic the appearance of a French restaurant in France.
The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and there’s a bakery you need to check out before you leave. I was able to stop in for lunch during my visit.
Rendez-Vous Bakery and Bistro’s menu features plenty of quiches, croissants, croissant sandwiches, and more. If you stop in, you can’t miss trying their Nicoise salad or their chicken florentine crepe.
311 Johnson St, Hollywood, FL 33019
Cafe Club is another one of the best French restaurants in Fort Lauderdale but this time near the beach. The restaurant is on Johnson Street, just north of Hollywood Beach.
It’s yet another smaller spot; you’ll know you’ve arrived when you see a door boasting blue neon lights. It’s a laid-back restaurant with minimal decor but bright neon lights.
The food at Cafe Club isn’t only French, so you’ll have plenty of options when you visit. They have smoothies, salads, sandwiches, French toast, and more.
My favorite menu items are their egg and cheese croissant sandwiches and green smoothies that make you feel somewhat healthy.
235 Commercial Blvd, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL 33308
Within walking distance of the High Noon Beach Resort is Frenchy’s Table. This French restaurant features sidewalk seating and a beautiful interior with deep blue lighting and seaside decor.
It’s not exactly what you’d expect from a French restaurant, but don’t let that convince you that they don’t have great French food.
What I love about Frenchy’s Table is that it’s the most elegant French restaurant in town. You can order a la carte or choose a two or three-course meal.
I think the three-course meal is well worth it. I love their baked brie, duck breast, and French onion soup.
6250 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308
Across the highway from Broward Health Imperial Point is La Crepe. This restaurant is simple yet a widely popular spot in Fort Lauderdale because the food is fast, the staff is friendly, and the warm atmosphere.
La Crepe is excellent because not only do they have classic sweet crepes, but savory ones too. Their quiches aren’t bad either.
If you choose to eat here, you might want to order one savory and one sweet crepe to have the best of both worlds.
Popular ones here are the French ratatouille crepe, brie apple bacon crepe, and the banana and Nutella crepe.
The beautiful and bustling city of Fort Lauderdale has more than enough restaurants to keep you full throughout your stay. French cuisine isn’t abundant here, but there are a few fantastic spots to get French food.
Next time you’re craving French cuisine, these are the best French restaurants in Fort Lauderdale that have everything from escargot to crepes. If you’re in the mood for an American classic, however, check out these amazing burger joints around town!
