This kind of beer is made in a traditional manner in a small, local brewery. So, I’ve put together a list of spots in town with the best craft beer so you can go taste them all.

Housed in a two-level building, Strangelove’s is a great place to grab some craft beer. Though this spot doesn’t make the beer itself, you’ll still have plenty to taste and enjoy at this spot. With a rotating list of 20 beers on tap, you’ll never get bored here.

Offering a wide selection of beer as well as other drinks, Strangelove’s has a drink for everyone, even if you don’t like beer. Be sure to try the Hermit Thrush brattlebeer, Virtue Cider rose, or Fat Head’s pimp my sleigh. Don’t forget to try a New Orleans-inspired dish while you’re there!

Located in a huge building, Yards Brewing Company is a spot you won’t want to miss when you’re in town. With a brewery, restaurant, bar, even spaces, retail shop, and outdoor seating, this place really has it all. They even offer tours.

Yards Brewing Company offers a selection of tasty beers including flights if you want to taste a few varieties. Try out the philthy, summer crush, juicy giant, or Washington’s porter. Make sure to grab some food as well!

Nestled in Northern Liberties, Urban Village Brewing Company serves up craft beers you have to try to believe. This brewpub brews their beer on site and has a certificate from the University of Sciences for brewing, so you know it’ll be good.

Head to the brewpub itself or order online pickup to taste the beer at Crime and Punishment Brewing Company. Try out the gleamer, knockturnal schwarzbier, or plainoia. Make sure to grab a Russian-inspired dish while you’re there!


Second District Brewing Company

Showcasing a brewer with over 14 years of experience, it’s no surprise Second District Brewing company has such great beer. This local brewery offers plenty of house craft beers on tap in multiple sizes.
