Whether or not you are looking to grab wings for takeout to enjoy the game at home or dine in an upscale dining restaurant, we have rounded up the best places to get Chicken Wings from in the Washington, D.C. area.

The very talented Executive Chef, Steven Forbes, is bold and confident in his menu additions, including the new pickled celery root and carrot slaw as a side to this amazing dish. Proper Social is absolutely the restaurant to be in Washington, D.C. for game day and other events. Located in Old Town Alexandria, Hard Times Cafe is always a popular choice. They also have locations in Springfield, Virginia, and two locations in Maryland – in Rockville, and College Park. Hard Times Cafe is a casual dining environment which has decor that is meant to be reminiscent of a chili parlor during The Great Depression. Decorated simply, Hard Time Cafe conveys warmth and comfort by their ambiance alone. Their restaurant is beautifully fragrant, and conjures up a perfect storm of a dining experience where you will want to stay for hours. While they are known for their famous chili, their Grilled Wings are not to be missed. Diners can choose between a variety of sauces. In addition to offering catering services, Hard Times Cafe offers private events. We cannot think of many other restaurants that will offer private events including a ‘Chili Buffet’ or a ‘Fun Fiesta Bar’ options. They also offer Birthday Parties for children, as they are a family friendly establishment.

Wingo’s

We recommend grabbing a bucket of wings and sharing with a friend! Wingo’s offers Happy Hour seven days a week, and attracts a multitude of clientele due to their wonderful service, fantastic food, and refreshing beverages. They also offer catering services, which is a great option for feeding guests while watching the game or celebrating. Wingo’s is also unique, as they offer an all day breakfast.

Stan’s DC Restaurant is conveniently located in the Downtown area of Washington, D.C. and is considered by some to be a D.C. institution. Stan’s DC is a basement level cocktail lounge that serves a plethora of Washingtonians finishing a days’ work and visitors to the area alike. Washington, D.C. is known for its ‘mumbo sauce’ and Stan’s DC encourages diners to enjoy their baked or fried wings soaked in it. Their portion sizes are very large, so we recommend going with a friend. Stan’s also has other delightful menu items, including their Catfish Sandwich and Baked Haddock. Stan’s DC is also well known for their strong drinks. In fact, they boldly proclaim on their website that they have the “strongest drinks in D.C. Guaranteed.” We absolutely have to agree with this statement. Check them out and find out for yourself! 


Bonchon

Bonchon has several locations around the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia area, including in the lively neighborhood of Navy Yard. Bonchon in Navy Yard is a casual dining restaurant, and their outdoor seating is reminiscent of being at a barbeque. Guests are encouraged to share picnic tables with one another in this relaxed environment. Their interior is surprisingly spacious and while simply decorated, quite lovely for a fast casual dining experience. Bonchon serves Korean Fried Chicken, and their wings are a must try! We recommend their boneless wings with soy garlic sauce. Their sides also stand out, and we love the Kimchi! Bonchon is the perfect location to dine before or after a National’s game. It is located a couple of blocks away from the stadium, and their restaurant is spacious enough to never feel crowded.

KoChix

KoChix is located within the Shaw area of Washington DC. KoChix features Korean Fried Chicken in a fast casual restaurant, and their services are currently for takeaway dining. This restaurant is a small, “hole in the wall” restaurant and their food is delicious and authentic. Many customers in the Washington, D.C. area say these are hands down the best Chicken Wings in the city. You have to try their Honey Spice and Soy Garlic Wings! The Shaw area of Washington, D.C. is such a historical neighborhood, we suggest grabbing some wings to go and having a picnic at the Meridian Hill Park and then checking out a local museum.

Primarily available for delivery through several apps, FedWings will also have popups within local restaurants. The Chicken Wings at FedWings are absolutely a hit with Washingtonians. Their sauce flavors are well known, especially their Alabama White BBQ sauce. Known as a staple sauce in the deep south, FedWings describes this flavor as sweet, creamy, and tangy with a bit of a kick. Their fries are a great accompaniment. While you are adding your FedWings order into your online cart, make sure to also add a jumbo cookie! They are homemade, super soft, and oh so satisfying!
