Salt Lake City is a great place to brunch. Whether you are looking for something hearty and traditional, or something a little more unique, there is sure to be a spot that fits your needs.

Avenues Proper is the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. With a wide selection of local beers on tap, you can find the perfect beer to pair with your food.

Plus, the space is huge and accommodating of larger parties, so you and your friends can swing by without having to worry about moving tables or splitting up.

You’ll find Avenues Proper in North Salt Lake City, next door to Intermountain Healthcare LDS Hospital.

Served every Saturday and Sunday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Avenues Proper has an extensive brunch menu with everything from small plates and boozy beverages to large meals and salads.

If you happen to make your way over to the joint, I suggest the brisket hash for a bigger meal or sharing the turkish eggs and biscuits and jam small plates.

However, if you’re looking for a recommendation, I recommend getting the delicious yet quirky waffle monster or the chicken and waffle. Plus, you have to try the “Best of Utah” Belgian fries.

Looking for a unique and enchanting brunch experience? Look no further than Oasis Cafe, located in the heart of Salt Lake City and just a couple of blocks from the main convention center.

The spot offers beautiful patio, private breezeway, and lavish dining room seating, making it the ideal brunch restaurant for an intimate dinner for two or a large gathering.

Oasis Cafe serves brunch daily until 3 p.m. and offers dishes that are sure to please all foodies. My favorite brunch dish has to be the Oasis Scramble, which comes with a flaky croissant and eggs scrambled with delicious veggies and cream cheese. However, you can’t go wrong with their frittata of the day either.

It’s only been around since 2004 but quickly became a popular brunch destination thanks to its relaxed environment and indoor and outdoor seating.

Plus, they’re open 7-days a week, making it an optimal choice for when you can’t wait until the weekend for brunch.

Whenever I’m in town, my friends and I usually gorge on the locally roasted coffee and fresh pastries before digging into a hearty meal.

I highly recommend the Mexican skillet for brunch because it gives you the best of both lunch and breakfast with its flavors.

Park Cafe is a local favorite, serving up classic comfort food in a warm and inviting atmosphere that features local and state memorabilia.

Plus, with its prime location across the street from Liberty Park, diners can enjoy beautiful views while they eat. The space inside is quaint with table and bar seating to accommodate parties of varying sizes.

When you visit Park Cafe, you have to try the FTF (French Toast Foolishness), it’s always my go-to order because it comes with sweet french toast and savory bacon and eggs to satisfy all of my cravings.

Plus, Park Cafe offers vegetarian and vegan dishes, including the Trippy Hippy Vegan Hash and veggie omelet if you have any dietary constraints.


Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade

With three locations in Utah, this local brunch favorite can’t be beat. Renowned for its limeade variations and friendly atmosphere, Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade has solidified itself as a must visit brunch destination in the area.

It’s the optimal spot for quaint, quiet get togethers with friends or family to catch up over a delicious meal and a frosty beverage.

Obviously, you have to try the limeade when you visit Sweet Lake Biscuite & Limeade. My personal favorite is the raspberry limeade, and I usually get it with the Biscuit Bar brunch meal. However, i’ve also had their habanero hot coco, which goes great with the Conspiracy Cakes.


Penny Ann’s Cafe

Penny Ann’s Cafe started as a small family cafe in New York before moving and opening 2 locations in the Salt Lake City area, including South Main St. and West 5400 South.

The environment inside is immediately welcoming, warm, and friendly, making it one of my favorite spots to visit when I’m in the area and want to grab a low key brunch with some friends.

Since Penny Ann’s Cafe is known as “the home of the heavenly hot stacks,” you absolutely have to try the pancakes. Every bite I take of these fluffy delights is better than the last and I always leave my plate squeaky clean.

No matter what you get, you have to get a biscuit with it, trust me. Plus, everything here made from scratch daily, so you know the food is fresh and delicious.

Oquirrh is a little bit more of an upscale brunch experience in Downtown Salt Lake City with eloquently plated dishes served in a modern industrial setting.

Oquirrh Restaurant offers banquette seating, but please keep in mind that parties over 6 people will need to make reservations for brunch ahead of time.

If you went a little too hard on a Friday night, I think you might want to try Oquirrh’s hangover pasta, complete with spaghetti, sausage, eggs, cheese and hot sauce.

But, I also really enjoy the bread pudding french-toast, specifically the seasonal fruit compote option.

If you’re looking for a classic diner experience, Ruth’s is the place to go. With its intimate setting and old-school vibe, it’s the perfect spot for a casual brunch with friends or family.

Plus, there’s plenty of seating options so you can find just the right spot. You’ll find Ruth’s Diner nestled along the forested Emigration Canyon Road next door to Emigration Brewing Co.

Ruth’s Diner has nearly endless brunch options. So, if you’re looking for a recommendation, I suggest the classic eggs benedict, the Sunrise Spuds, or the essential Ruth’s breakfast combo.

The restaurant also has options for those of you with a sweet tooth or dietary restrictions, including vegan dishes.

Gourmandise is not only Utah’s most award-winning cafe and bakery, it’s one of the best places for brunch In Salt Lake City.

The restaurant has spacious indoor and patio seating, which is ideal when the weather is nice and you want a quality spot to grab a bite with friends. Gourmandise is in the heart of the city, just North of Washington Square Park.

When it comes to brunch bites, Gourmandise has light dishes, heart breakfasts, entrees, and bakery items to choose from. I always love getting their quiche du jour or the creme brulee oatmeal when I stop in.

But, I also suggest the classic croissant breakfast sandwich, the roasted pear apple salad, or the blueberry balsamic grilled cheese.

Step into Silver Fork Lodge Restaurant, just outside of the city up Big Cottonwood Canyon, and you’ll feel like you’re stepping back in time to a rustic cabin in the mountains.

With big windows that offer beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, this restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a casual meal with family or friends. Or, book a room and enjoy complimentary breakfast.

Here, you can indulge in delicious home-cooked meals prepared with fresh ingredients. I recommend the old fashioned oats if you’re in the mood for something light, or the Guru Dave Powers Spuds with added bacon crumble and two eggs if you want a big hearty brunch meal.

Cafe Niche believes that a great cup of coffee should be paired with a delicious pastry. The cafe offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, perfect for meeting up with friends or grabbing a quick cup of coffee on the go. Cafe Niche is located a little bit East of the city center next door to Salt City Curl Co.

The innovative menu features classic favorites and unique twists on old favorites, which is sure to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.

Some of my favorite dishes include the niche croque madame, the cinnamon French toast or the wild mushroom scramble.

Plus, Cafe Niche offers all the staples, such as hash browns, bacon, avocado, and cheddar jalapeno biscuits as sides for any meal.

Located in Salt Lake City’s Milcreek neighborhood across the street from a local park, Provisions is the perfect spot for an intimate dinner or drinks with friends.

The seasonal menus are packed with delicious handcrafted creations, and the cocktails are some of the best in town.

Whether you’re looking to relax and unwind after a long day or celebrate a special occasion, Provisions is the perfect place to do it.

As far as brunch is concerned, I love the organic Mary’s fried chicken waffles or the Provisions breakfast, which comes with eggs, a biscuit with honey butter, bacon or sausage, and potatoes. I also love the Provisions breakfast, because you can switch to the veggie option if you need to or want a lighter meal.

Offering a constantly evolving menu with the best ingredients, SLC Eatery provides an inspiring and communal dining experience. With indoor and outdoor seating, SLC Eatery is perfect for any occasion, but especially brunch.

SLC Eatery is the perfect spot for brunch with menu items inspired by traditional dishes, but with a fun and fresh twist.

I highly reccomend the breakfast torta dip to share with friends and the caramelized kimchi rice bowl to keep to yourself. But keep in mind that their menu changes frequently.
