Union Station is home to one of the most unique restaurants in Denver. Woodie Fisher takes one of the first fire stations in Denver, now the oldest remaining structure in Union Station, and turns it into a unique, open, and inviting, dining space. Woodie Fisher stands out from the other buildings around it, with the old brick and short stature a stark contrast to the modern architecture next door. The menu is equally impressive. Creative recipes and fresh ingredients merge for the perfect brunch. The only problem is that everything looks so good, you can’t get it all. I was torn between the Alaskan King Crab Benedicts and the Lavender French Toast. Ultimately, I settled on the french toast with real maple syrup, mixed berry preserves, and whipped cream. It was light and airy – a great start to the day.

When I was a little kid, I wanted nothing more than to ride the teacups at Disney. As an adult, I was pleasantly surprised when I stepped into Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, and found that they had teacup-shaped booths! Even better, Snooze is only a few blocks away from the Denver Botanic Gardens and Cherry Creek Shopping Center, making it the perfect place to grab brunch with your family. My favorite dish here was the Smashed Avocado Benny. The English muffin with fresh smashed avocado, parmesan cheese, ripe tomatoes, two poached eggs, smoked cheddar hollandaise, and a side of hash browns fueled my energy for a long day of fun and was delicious.

Bacon Social House in the Sunnyside neighborhood of north Denver was an excellent brunch experience. The cleverly decorated walls and inviting atmosphere create a modern space for you to brunch with friends or family. Their creative menu has options for sweet and savory – and even a mix of both. It’s a great place for Sunday brunch, and you’ll want to make time for this stop more than once.Their Boozy French Toast was everything I’d hoped for. Challah bread, berries, bourbon caramel, and vanilla whipped cream with a side of bacon had me wondering if it was brunch or dessert. Either way, I was happy!

Denver Biscuit Company

Denver Biscuit Company has four locations in Denver, one in Lakeside on Tennyson, one on Broadway, one in the Stanley Marketplace, and one on Colfax. I chose the Colfax location because of its proximity to the zoo, as I knew I would need to get some exercise after this delicious meal. Brunch in an Atomic Cowboy Bar was an exciting treat and entirely on par with the eclectic menu. Like everything on Colfax, Denver Biscuit Company was in a league of its own.If you have a hearty appetite, I highly recommend The Franklin. It’s buttermilk fried chicken with bacon and cheddar cheese and smothered in house-made sausage gravy. It was rich, savory, and I didn’t eat anything else all day!

Bar Dough in Highland Park is a rustic Italian restaurant that serves pizzas and pasta. But what about brunch, you might ask. They serve a delicious weekend brunch menu featuring pizzas, mimosas, beer, wine, cinnamon rolls, and so much more. If you want a sweet start to the day, they have it, but they also have salads and hearty dishes that will satisfy your hunger.I had the steak and eggs, which were fantastic. An 8 oz grass-fed hanger steak served with fingerling potatoes and two eggs makes a hearty beginning to the day. I grabbed a cinnamon roll to-go, though, and that was incredible, too.

In the heart of West Highland, you’ll find a beautiful Victorian Dunwoody House transformed into an incredible Southern American restaurant. Sassafras opened in 2012 and uses the historic charm of the old home, gorgeously restored, to spotlight their fantastic menu. Their morning cocktail menu is enough to make you forget you’re day-drinking, and everyone should try their Harmony Mimosa with lavender simple syrup and orange and pineapple juices. For brunch, I enjoyed the Chicken Fried Steak. The tender ribeye cap is battered and fried, then smothered in bacon fat country gravy with collard greens, potato casserole, jalapeno cornbread, and BBQ sauce. I felt like I was down South, and they captured the essence perfectly.

Mimosas Denver

Mimosas lives in the heart of Five Points in Denver. Although relatively new, having opened in 2020, it has already made a mark on the brunch scene. Their goal is to create an experience rather than simply be a place to stop for food. Their sophisticated dining room provides a view of the open kitchen, but if you’d rather dine outdoors, their patio seating is perfectly shaded. Here, I enjoyed the Bello Sandwich – a marinated portobello mushroom with arugula, roasted red peppers, burrata, and balsamic on a toasted brioche bun with a side of homestyle potatoes.

What could be better than a rooftop meal with a view of the Rocky Mountains and Coors Field? Just about nothing. ViewHouse opened in 2013 with the promise of a vibrant atmosphere, excited and engaged staff, indoor and outdoor dining, and a great place to gather with friends, colleagues, or family. Whether you stay indoors or choose to eat on their roof, everything about ViewHouse is just right. I sat outdoors on a gorgeous sunny day and enjoyed the Nashville Hot Chicken, Waffles, and Eggs. This had scrambled eggs, Nashville hot chicken tenders with a cornmeal Belgian waffle, strawberry jalapeno glaze, and a.d. Laws bourbon maple syrup. Rich, savory, and absolutely breathtaking. Just like the view.

Four Friends Kitchen is just as inviting as it sounds. Created in 2015 by a group of friends who just wanted a nice place to gather for brunch with their families, this restaurant serves a need in their neighborhood of Central Park. Southern-inspired contemporary comfort food is the name of the game, and isn’t that what brunch is all about? Whether you start with beignets or fried green tomatoes, everything about Four Friends is excellent. I loved the Crispy Huevos Rancheros – layered house-made tostadas with vegetarian refried beans, two eggs, four-cheese blend, avocado, roasted peppers, sour cream, and red chili ranchero sauce, this was a delightful meal.

Located in Five Points, not far from Coors Field, Stowaway Kitchen’s open dining area offers a cozy brunch spot. The menu shares recipes collected from various corners of the world and hopes to share flavors and experiences within their comfort food. Stowaway knows that the kitchen is the soul of the home and creates that sense within their restaurant. My favorite meal here was the Smoked Trout Salad with smoked Idaho steelhead trout, Altius farms Rex butter lettuce, Esoterra Farm baby fennel, and sugar snap peas with crispy beluga lentils and buttermilk dressing. It was every bit as delicious as it sounds.
