In 2009, Janis Fleischman and Jerry Lewanski opened the bakeshop, and it has remained a family-owned business since its opening.
I enjoyed the ham, cheddar, and chive scone when I visited Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop. Other popular items include chocolate croissants, monkey bread, and the classic chocolate chip cookie. Try the breakfast sandwich with the seasonal soup for something a bit more filling.

Hotel Captain Cook is located near Bootlegger’s Cove and the Captain Cook Monument. The dining area in the hotel, The Crow’s Nest, is a fine-dining restaurant that serves fusion French-American cuisine. Other dining spots in the hotel include Fletcher’s pub and The Pantry for breakfast.
Hotel Captain Cook is a great place to enjoy brunch when staying in Anchorage. In The Pantry, try the Alaskan salmon omelet with hollandaise sauce.
I recommend ordering the New York steak tips and eggs or the avocado toast with feta cheese. Grab a coffee to begin your day!

Snow City Cafe is a bright and warm cafe that is a local favorite. The restaurant is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm daily.
The cafe is situated near the Bootlegger’s Cove and Downtown districts. The full glass windows and the tin signage are eye-catching.
Some of the top brunch items on the menu include the Tundra Scramble with reindeer sausage and green peppers, the Kodiak benedict with Alaska red king crab cakes, and the snow city granola.
The cafe also has a full espresso bar with specialty options like the Milky Way, the Almond Joy, and the Raspberry dream.
White Spot Cafe

White Spot Cafe is located in the heart of Downtown Anchorage. It is a classic diner serving traditional American dishes and Alaskan specialties.
Since 1946, White Spot Cafe has been serving breakfast to the community. The restaurant is open between Monday and Saturday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
I enjoyed the halibut sandwich and a root beer float when I visited White Spot Cafe. Other popular menu items include the black & blue cheeseburger, the patty melt, and the biscuits and gravy. The best brunch items include the blueberry hot cake and the breakfast sandwich with reindeer sausage.
Spenard Roadhouse

Spenard Roadhouse is near the Spenard Thruway and the Midtown area of Anchorage. It is open daily until 10:00 pm with extended breakfast hours on the weekends.
In addition to brunch favorites, the bar offers various small-batch bourbons and local beers. It’s a great place to catch up with friends!
The Spenard Roadhouse serves french toast, biscuits and gravy, and Lucky Charms cereal. I enjoyed the pecan salted caramel sticky bun and the bacon breakfast burrito with scrambled eggs, honey bacon, and cheddar.
Try a mimosa or bloody mary with your breakfast. Other cocktails are available, too, like Paloma and a jalapeno-lavender tequila.

The restaurant offers signature dishes like a classic benedict with black forest ham, quiche Lorraine, and breakfast tacos.
My favorite brunch meal is the chorizo burrito with scrambled eggs, chorizo, pepper jack, black beans, and sour cream.
The coffee cafe is available at opening, and the breakfast bar begins serving cocktails at 10:00 am. Try the Bee’s Knees with gin and honey syrup.

Jackie’s Place is the best breakfast spot for early risers; it opens as early as 6:00 am on most days.
The casual eatery serves a tasty no-frills breakfast with a build-your-own omelet option with various ingredients. Jackie’s Place is located in the North Star neighborhood of Anchorage.
Try the teriyaki beef with eggs, the corned beef hash with eggs, or the chicken fried steak and eggs.
Other popular menu items include the hotcakes with blueberries, the ham and cheese omelet, and the bacon cheeseburger. Be sure to ask about pie at the end of your meal; the type of pie offered changes regularly!

For people who need a caffeine fix first thing in the morning, the Middle Way Cafe serves a range of delicious coffees.
The interior of the cafe is decorated with art from local artists. It is situated near the Spenard Turnway and is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and serves meals from a breakfast and lunch menu.
When I visited the Middle Way Cafe, I enjoyed the Shepherd’s Omelet with goat cheese, caramelized onions, and sautéed spinach.
I’d also recommend the Bumbleberry French Toast with mixed berries compote and whipped blueberry butter. Grab a cup of coffee with your meal!

The Biscuitclub is in downtown Anchorage near the Anchorage Museum. It is a down-home restaurant that serves sweet and savory biscuits.
The restaurant is open between Tuesday and Sunday. The interior offers a hip vibe with a painted coffee bar where expert baristas craft great cups of coffee.
The menu offers so many tasty options like the Hot Blooded with sausage gravy, diced Louisiana link sausage, and cheddar.
Try the American Pie with apple butter and whipped cream if you prefer something sweeter. Try the white chocolate mocha, the Americano, or the London fog for a great breakfast beverage.

With a friendly staff and large portions, it is a welcoming and comfortable spot to enjoy traditional breakfast foods. This pancake house is a nice place to enjoy a morning meal with family and friends.
The restaurant offers Belgian waffles, French toast, and a vast selection of pancakes. My favorite pancake dish was the Hawaiian Pancakes with pineapple and banana.
Definitely order a side of bacon with your pancakes or waffles. Try an omelet or a skillet for more savory dishes, like the Biscuits and Gravy skillet.

Simon & Seafort’s Saloon & Grill is near Bootlegger’s Cove in Anchorage. The gorgeous views from the restaurant enhance the experience and create a welcoming vibe. The grill opens at 11:30 am daily. The restaurant has been serving the community since 1978.
Try the Frontier Breakfast with eggs, reindeer sausage, English muffin, and potatoes for an authentic Alaskan brunch.
Other popular menu items include a Prime Rib Hash with caramelized onions and Baked Cinnamon Pecan French Toast Brioche with cinnamon vanilla custard and candied pecans. For a cocktail, try the Cucumber-Elderflower Smash!
