Bold Monk Brewing is located in the Underwood Hills community of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Avenue NW. When I visited Bold Monk Brewing Company, I enjoyed the Disciple, a Belgian-style dubbel brew with higher alcohol content. The bar also offers a list of about ten signature cocktails. Try some tasty snacks, like the all-beef hotdog with a green tomato chow-chow or the smoked bacon mussels with garlic and white wine.

The brewery is located in East Atlanta near Glenwood Avenue SE and the Brownwood Park Recreation Center. Articles about Hippin Hops Brewery have been featured in many local publications, like the Atlanta Journal. Try the Gator Bites for a snack with your pint; the bites are fried to a golden brown and served with remoulade sauce. The brewery also serves several types of baked oysters on the half shell. I most enjoyed the Smoked Gouda Oysters. The Hugh Hefe, a hefeweizen with hints of banana, is one of the most popular beers, but I also enjoyed the Baby Momma Drama tropical IPA.

The location has a rooftop bar with incredible city views. In addition to the brewery in Atlanta, New Realm has locations in Virginia Beach, Savannah, and Charleston. The Hazy Like A Fox IPA is one of the breweries’ best brews; the beer has hints of pineapple, lemon, and oranges. Also, try the Tropic Deam, a fruited wheat ale, or the classic Hoplandia IPA. Also, try the blistered shishito peppers or the New Realm Burger made with ground brisket!

Scofflaw Brewing Company is located along Marietta Boulevard NW near Crest Lawn Memorial Park. It is open at noon every day with extended hours on the weekend. Matt Shirah is the owner and founder of Scofflaw Brewing, who works alongside his partner Travis Herman, the brewmaster. My favorite beer was named “Basement,” and it is an IPA with loads of citrus flavor. I would also recommend trying the Hooligan IPA or the Double Jeopardy IPA. The bartenders are serving up draft seltzer and cocktails in the taproom. Try the Pink Drink with gin and grapefruit soda!

The brewery opened in 2017, and is operated by Ryan Chapman and Ashley Chapman Hubbard. The two aimed to create drinkable lagers for the Atlanta area. Try the TKR Pilsner German-style pilsner. I also enjoyed the Georgia Red Lager, the Sir doppelbock, and the Southern Heaven Hefeweizen. The Giant Hot Pretzel is a crowd favorite, but I also enjoyed the Brisket Reuben and the Pimento Goat Cheese.

The kitchen at the brewery serves Southern-style comfort food. The beer garden serves local brews. During summer, try the Florida Seltzer Navel Orange Yuzu Hard Seltzer. I also enjoyed the Walk On Water Wheat Beer from Bold Monk Brewing Company and the Ghost In The Machine IPA from Parish Brewing Company. If you are hungry, order the Das Dog with sauerkraut and brown mustard or the Cheese Monster grilled cheese with three different types of cheeses.

The brick exterior of the building announces that it is a brewery and sets the scene for a fun afternoon of sampling tasty brews. Try the Summertime Lemon Radler or the Echo German-style doppelbock. My favorite drink was the American-style IPA called Enhance. Be sure to order some of the delicious food on the menu, like the bacon cheeseburger or the BBQ Pork Sliders. The beer menu and the food menu offer great, straightforward tastes for everyone to enjoy!

Yes! Scofflaw’s has a second location. Scofflaw’s at the Works is located within a food hall, so this location only serves the great original beers from the Scofflaw brewery. The Works is located in Atlanta’s East Side and is a building that houses various retail stores alongside dining establishments and, of course, breweries. It is a one-stop-shop for food and shopping fun. From Scofflaw’s brewery, try the Dirty Beaches, a tropical wheat ale. I also enjoyed the Stray Goat and the Basement Light. Scofflaw Brewing Company is also serving various seltzers like Georgia Peach and Tahitian Lime.

Brick Store Pub is a casual pub that serves traditional dishes like fish ‘n’ chips. The drink menu is distinctly beer-focused, and the upstairs of the pub is a Belgian Bar. The pub is located in Downtown Decatur, Georgia, and it is open at 11:30 am Tuesday through Sunday. For your meal, try the Brunswick Stew and the Fried Perogies. I also enjoyed the chicken salad melt with havarti. The beer menu is wonderfully long. I sampled the Three Taverns A Night on Ponce American IPA and the Halfway Crooks Farnia Kolsch. While this location is just outside of Atlanta, it has compiled a great menu of local brews for guests to enjoy!
