Arrowhead Grill

8280 W Union Hills Dr, Glendale, AZ 85308

Six consecutive years receiving the Wine Spectacular “Award of Excellence” is only one of the many reasons to visit Arrowhead Grill.

The perfectly cooked, sizzling steaks paired with a neighborhood atmosphere make this steak, seafood, and cocktail joint a pleasing experience for all.

A seasonal delicacy at Arrowhead Grill is the wild king salmon. I don’t often order salmon, but its texture and quality were a delight. If salmon isn’t your forte, consider ordering a certified USDA prime cut steak.

The Spicery In Our 1895 Home

Home-style cooking with a historic atmosphere is what you will find at The Spicery In Our 1895 Home.

Once you step through the doors of this ancient, yet lively home, you will get the sense you are back at grandma’s house as she called you in for lunch.

Choose between decadent desserts like Cherry Cheesecake and Bread Pudding or dig into a filling entree like the Albacore Tuna Salad Sandwich or a piece of the Quiche of the Day.

While the menu offerings are tempting, my go-to dish is the walnut avocado sandwich. It never fails to be a mouth-watering experience.

Haus Murphy’s

5739 W Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301
Phone: 623-939-2480

Haus Murphy’s is the place to enjoy traditional Bavarian dishes. Appetizers like Sauerkraut Puffs and Das Haus Brot offer a uniquely German experience.

Schnitzel’s, German Sausages, and Haus specialties highlight the menu with everything you’d expect from a true German eatery.

While you can’t say ‘bratwurst’ without your mind immediately thinking of German culture, my soft spot is for the schnitzel.

The Paprika Schnitzel, a dish highlighted by Guy Fieri, was something I had to try. While I didn’t have his typically boisterous reaction, I certainly enjoyed it.

Kiss the Cook Restaurant

4915 W Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301
Phone: 623-939-4663
Visit Website

Breakfast and lunch are the specialties at Kiss the Cook Restaurant in Glendale.

This homey restaurant serves up your breakfast favorites like fluffy, buttermilk pancakes, and corned beef hash, while also offering burgers and every sandwich you can imagine.

One of the more unique menu offerings is the snow pea and mushroom omelet. I loved its balance, and couldn’t get enough of the Monterey jack cheese.

If you don’t prefer omelets, try the chicken breast burger or the deviled egg salad.

Bobby-Q BBQ Restaurant and Steakhouse

8501 N 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85051
Phone: 602-995-5982
Visit Website

Flat out stating you have the best fried chicken in Arizona, is a bold statement—one that I had to investigate. What makes the fried chicken at Bobby-Q so popular?

Perhaps it’s the crispy, flavorful crunch of the chicken’s exterior. Or maybe the combination of the crust with the tender, juicy and flavorful chicken.

Either way, Bobby-Q BBQ Restaurant and Steakhouse holds the title of “Best Fried Chicken in all of Arizona” due to popular vote.

And, in my opinion, they may deserve that title. Just a little tip: it’s best served with a side of country white gravy and fluffy mashed potatoes.

If fried chicken isn’t your top menu choice, Bobby-Q also offers impeccable wood-fired steaks and has a variety of burger, sandwich, and seafood options.

The Place

5171 W Bell Rd, Glendale, AZ 85308
Phone: 602-896-9929

The Place is the perfect landing spot for you and your friends to enjoy a bite to eat for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.

Open seven days a week, this family-owned and operated restaurant is known for its spectacular and filling dishes alongside the full bar and sparkling cocktails.

Whether you’re in the mood for a brunch omelet with a mimosa or a lunch burger with a beer, The Place has just what you need.

A favorite breakfast menu item is the smothered burrito. One aspect I particularly enjoyed about this dish was the homemade pork green chili sauce.

While the breakfast burrito is a staple, the prime rib melt holds a special place in my heart. I heartily recommend it.

Little Saigon Restaurant

7016 N 57th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301
Phone: 623-939-6136

Home-cooked Vietnamese food is what you will find at a Little Saigon Restaurant.

Cultural authenticity is on show as this family-owned and operated restaurant has been passing down recipes from generation to generation.

While I have not been disappointed at Little Saigon Restaurant, my favorite is the shaken beef stir-fry rice plate. It has a lovely texture and I adored the finishing touches.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

9712 W Northern Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345
Phone: 623-772-9463
Visit Website

Upscale and decadent are two of the best words to describe Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Premium steaks, top-notch seafood, and perfectly aged wine highlight the menu.

With appetizers like beef carpaccio, burrata with prosciutto, crab cakes, and sweet chili calamari, you can take date night to the next level.

After enjoying your appetizer, dive into the main entree of classic cut or specialty cut signature steaks.

If you’re looking for something more exotic, I recommend the Diablo Ship, an irresistible seafood dish.

Don Ruben’s Mexican Food

4323 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304
Phone: 602-866-2900
Visit Website

At Don Ruben’s Mexican Food, you will experience what it’s like to indulge yourself in some of the best, authentic Mexican food in Glendale.

While it is tough to go wrong with any dishes on the menu, the one that always catches my eye is the poco pollo.

La Piazza Al Forno

5803 W Glendale Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301
Phone: 623-847-3301

Pizza has a special place in my heart. You may think you know good pizza, but you’re missing out if you don’t visit La Pizza Al Forno and try their wood-fired pizza.

From the housemade mozzarella to the homemade dough, no detail is spared. Choose between Roman-style, Napoleon-style, or New York-style pizza.

The Salvatore pizza is my go-to as it has a taste you won’t soon forget. Seafood, pasta, and salads are also on the menu.

Yard House

9401 W Westgate Blvd, Glendale, AZ 85305
